Whites: Boris, Tim T, Rajseran, Jason T, Jye, Rainer, Damian
Reds: Ade, Fred, Arijit, Raminder, Look Liew, Tan Wee, Rajiv
Everyone, please bring both a white top and a red top in any event.
.... Just bad luck all round as far as numbers for the game is concerned. We managed to get a couple of players from an earlier game to take turns for Reds, but the game was one-sided in favour of Whites, so Rajseran volunteered to swap with the spare player after about 25 minutes.
We started 6-a-side. Damian had come in as the other late replacement and informed us that he would be 15 minutes late.
Whites took a 4-0 lead - two good goals, a defensive lapse and a deflected goal. After Damian arrived, I managed to get the spare player, but it went to 5-0. Rajseran swapped with the spare player.
We then had a second leg. Reds led 1-0 and 2-1. Whites levelled at 2-2 before Reds pulled ahead 5-2.
On aggregate, Whites 7 Reds 5.

Coincidentally, it was just over a year ago (on 3 July 2010) that a Saturday game at Turf City was badly affected by an accident. On that occasion:
I was stuck on Eng Neo Avenue for 45 minutes. Jye SMSed to inform me of the traffic jam and hte cause of it. I also received SMSes from Rajseran, Azmi, Dhiraj and Julius to say they were stuck in traffic jams as well.
When I got there at about 4.30 pm, there were only 10 of us, including Ganesh's girlfriend Kimberly, who has played in our mixed games before and is keen to play.
Nevertheless, we started as follows:
Over the next 20 minutes, Azmi, Jeremy, Rajseran, Dhiraj and Julius and David M arrived in that order, so we reverted to the original line ups, but with Kimberly in place of Kevin K2 (who in all likelihood never made it through the traffic):
Rajseran was also hungover and coming down with a bug, and conceded a couple of soft goals when in goal, as Whites led 4-1 when we were asked to stop at 5.10 pm as the next game on the big pitch was ready.
Jeremy and Rajseran had already left, while Imran had already showered and changed, when we noticed that there were no games on the two small pitches. We therefore asked to continue our game there. As we had 13, we needed the big pitch. The staff were reluctant, as it meant they would have to open up the two small pitches before separating them again for the 6 pm games. We offered to help them, and got our game going again from 5.30 to 6.10 pm.
2 guys whose were there but whose game was cancelled due to the traffic jam joined us. The line ups this time were:
Reds: Sushil, Alan L, Fred, Yaseen, Jamil, 2 extra players
Whites: Ganesh, Poh Keng, Kimberly, Azmi, Dhiraj, Julius, David M, Rajiv
Reds took a 2-0 lead before Whites came back to lead 3-2. I then conceded 2 soft goals for Reds to regain the lead 4-3, before Whites grabbed 2 more to win 5-4.
A Saturday game in July at Turf City. Must be a jinx.
