I'm not usually into predicting outcomes of matches, but despair at the quality of punditry everywhere led me to give it a go on another forum before the World Cup quarterfinals, as follows: "I would not be surprised if:
* The Netherlands upset Brazil. * Uruguay beat Ghana. * Germany "upset" Argentina. * Spain beat Paraguay. * The Netherlands beat Uruguay * Germany beat Spain.
A repeat of the 1974 World Cup Final, which Germany dominate but this time, The Netherlands win, in a reversal of fortune 36 years on.
5 out of 5 so far, and I have Germany to beat Spain in today's game, but Paul The Octopus, who is 5 for 5 in predicting the outcome of Germany's games so far this World Cup, has gone for Spain. Paul got the the result of Germany v Spain at Euro 2008 wrong - maybe it's his bogey fixture.

Hey Rajiv, before the quarters, I went for:
Ghana v holland Spain v germany Murray to get tanned by Nadal.
There has been more hype than punditry, but was gutted by the Ghana outcome. If that had happened to England, I'm sure you would never hear the end of it.
i think tonight's game really is too close to call, but i'm backing Holland to take top spot.

If Germany get through to the final, let's see who Paul The Octopus picks to win. Of course, if Germany gets through, it means Paul would have got Germany v Spain result wrong.

Not likely. I'll start a new thread on Euro 2012, with a poll included. And how about a psychic llama?
