It was raining the entire day but somehow the pitch managed to drain out most of the moisture and wasn't that wet as expected.
Everyone was punctual and we kicked off the game straight after the usual introduction with one another.
White managed to score 2 goals in quick succession and was up to a 2 - 0 lead early in the game. Reds managed to equalize with two goals from Nordin. The game was very tight for the first half at least, with Whites or Reds leading by no more by one. The score was in that manner until we were level at 5 - 5.
Reds was suddenly on a roll after that, with some great passing and good defending, Reds was leading by 3 to 4 goals. White pulled one back at the last moment with a fine individual effort. And the game ended 9 - 6 or 10 - 6 for Reds.
A good game and also an interesting one. Reds defence, I believed was the difference in this game, led by Edmund and Olivier, they managed to clear every ball that came their way with a no nonsense approach. Clearing it either upfield for the strikers to pick on the loose chance or sideways out of the park to break Whites attacking momentum.
In attack, Nordin and myself seem to pair up quite well. If I am not wrong, all the goals were from both of us, with John assisting a number of goals and also a number of strikes that were well saved by White's keeper.
White was playing well in linking defence up to attack but was somehow disrupted by the sturdy Reds defence.
An even game in my opinion which could have gone either way. Just that Red got this one this time round. Was a good game though.
Man of the Match (Reds): Olivier, Edmund (defense), Nordin (attack)
P/S: Rajiv, somehow your formation works well. Looks like you really know most of the people here in this forum man. Kudos. Cheers.
I suggest Wee Teck and his direct and indirect contact against the rest. As they are one short, I suggest the player who has played against them the most often (usually on a Wednesday) join them. That would be Philip S I believe.
Whites: Wee Teck, Clarence, Aymeric, Nicolas, Darren Kim, Stehpane, Philip S Reds: Jerry, Olivier, Edmund, Johnny, Ray Yap, Nordin, John J
Although everyone on Reds has played several times before .... [several] Reds have not played together before To help them along, I suggest [positions].
With necessary adjustments when players take turns in goal.
As for Reds' players, I've played with everyone before, other than you and Johnny, but I've seen you play at least once when I've come down to Khalsa, and I've asked a couple of regulars who had played with Johnny about him, so it wasn't really difficult to have an idea who of the 7 would be more forward players and who would be more defensive players.
