A little drizzle when I was heading to the game and was hopping it didn't turn into a downpour and luckily it didn't. One light didn't work hence a bit dark at the road-end of the pitch.
This is one of the low scoring game ending with a tie at 4 a piece. Reds was in control most of the time but white made full use of their counter attack play and make it count. The sign was there when white scored with their first attack after hardly testing the red's keeper in the first 10-15 minutes.
Whites were blessed with good display by their keeper - thwarting several goal bound effort that would had killed the game at the three-quarter mark. Credit to whites, they kept on coming and got their deserved equalizer before deciding to call it a day.
One more highlight was the niggling fouls and injuries peppered during the game. For the first time, I was concerned about the tackles (perhaps just wanting everyone to be fit for the holiday period) and fouls. Thank goodness everyone seems alright at the end of the game.
Reds started stronger, and had a lot of possession. Whites really had no attack, but were defending reasonably well. Reds finally took the lead but Whites continued to defend well, and then grabbed an equalizer when Glenn F was put through.
It remained 1-1 for a long time. Whites created the odd chance, but Reds were creating far more, and a combination of good defence and good goalkeeping kept Reds at bay until two quick goals saw Reds pull 3-1 ahead. It looked like Reds would then pull away, but Whites got a second wind, and the game in those last 15 minutes was fairly even, with Whites perhaps even having the slightly better of it. Two goals after 10 pm saw Whites grab an unexpected draw.
The game was called to an end after the equalizer.
A few clumsy challenges, but no serious injuries. Eric was particularly unlucky. First, his hand was scratched by the wire fence, then he took a couple of hard knocks. However, he was still full of running at the end.
I thought it was a good game overall. Decent debuts for Ishak and Julian as well.
