Whites: Wee Teck, Keng Loon, Clement, William, Jonathan, Brendan Reds: Lester, Azfar, David M, Babs, Angelo, Alex F
Whites were already 0-1 down before William arrived. I went off to see if I could pick up an extra player, so I didn't keep track of the scoring. I came back to watch the last 20 minutes or so, and saw Reds conceded a soft goal and an own goal. However, Reds responded by scoring a couple more.
I understand the final score was Reds 13 Whites 6.
Whites had a lot of good ball players, but lacked organization. Reds had more of experienced players. It goes to show that organization and experience matters in our games.
I guess I would have added organization to Whites, while Leo would have added more running/dribbling to Reds.
The Reds actually stated the game very fast, and went 5-0 very quickly. It seemed like a very easy game & I think the Reds became a bit over confident and relaxed. To their credit the Whites responded & fought back to 5-3 to make more of a game of it.
However it always felt that Reds had enough in the tank to respond, and they duly obliged by stretching the lead once more to around 10-4. Once again sloppiness came in and a blocked clearance from the Reds Keeper's kick and silly own goal back-pass which somehow went through the keepers feet bought the whites back into the game at 10-6.
However as before, the Reds were always in control and stepped up their game again. Good pressure football from the Reds when White's had possesison forced mistakes and caused the Whites to concede possession quite frequently. This led to Reds extending the lead to 13-6.
A good game & some lovely flashes of skill from both sides! A game for the purists perhaps!
