I've come across a couple of situations where 2 people who have found their way to our games through different routes knew each other independently of playing in our games. In the first case, Look Liew and Sze Kuan: Collin --> Sze Kuan Collin --> Mark L --> Andreas --> Look Liew In the second case, Julius and Ganesh: Rajiv --> Edardy --> Philipp --> Julius Rajiv --> Tom --> Yaseen --> Poh Keng --> Ganesh 6 degrees of separation, or Singapore is still a small place?

Raminder was introduced by Look Liew, and first played at the Premier Pitch on Sunday, 20 June 2010. Since then, he has played several games on Saturday and Sunday at the Premier Pitch. On Wednesday, 14 July 2010, when we were a couple of players short at The Cage, I asked around to see if we could find a couple of additional players. There was a group of about 17 to 18 playing 3 teams of 5 over two hours at another pitch. A couple of players from that game joined us. One of them was a Raminder. When I played the 6 to 7 pm game at the Premier Pitch on Sunday, 25 July 2010, I went down early and saw the end of the 5 to 6 pm game. As I had not played with Raminder at the weekend before, it was the first time I was seeing the Raminder introduced by Look Liew. I am quite sure it was the same person who played with us on Wednesday, 14 July. As none of the other players playing that Wednesday play at the weekends, Raminder would not have recognised any of us. Coincidence or what!?

If all the introductions were mapped out in full, we'd have quite a web.

Eddie was introduced by Marc H, who used to play with us at Bukit Timah campus. Eddie sent me the following e-mail yesterday: "Funny - I ran into Sanjay (of the Cage) last night at a common friend's wedding and in trying to help me find games, he told me about you!"

We currently have four games a week. "More than just a game a day" had two meanings - (1) the aim of having at least a game a day and (2) there is more to GIFFA than having a game a day. Now that we're down to four games a week, I'll change the tagline/slogan to "Social football with a competitive edge".

Ace will be away from Singapore for 2 years. His last game before he leaves is on 1 February 2011. He asked if there is sufficient interest in playing a second hour that night (10 to 11 pm, after the usual 9 to 10 pm slot).

i'll be away for 2 years in brisbane. by the way, the 2 hr testimonial match cost $50 per player as all proceedings will be used to cover the cost of the pitch with the rest being channelled to the 'Ace Academic Foundation' to support needy student like myself. autograph session and drinks will be provided after the game.

Crap. i have to attend a family reunion dinner on that night. Would there be another 1 hr later game? I'm having withdrawal symptoms for not playing for a few weeks. There needs to be a lot more interest if we are to have a second hour.

See u back in couple of years time...cheers! .... I hope the game went well. Sorry I didn't come down. I wasn't sure I could, and in the end, I didn't need to as everyone playing had prepaid.
