Rather subdued game but with good flowing and passing by both teams.
On the Red side, there was good fluidity and movement involving the 2 Daves and effervescent Tim. Jiv held the defence with myself and Azmi whilst Uday started off on the right wing but later moved to center midfield, a move which gave the advantage to the Reds as we broke away after that switch. Joel was the lone striker up front who was the Red Bull and gave his all for every ball lobbed his way.
Whites had a tactical switch of their own when Raj and Wing Kong began their Forays upfront. Indeed, the reposte was complete when Raj fired in with a long distance shot (with the score at 2-1??). Stephen was steadfast in defence with Tan Wee making incisive runs through the mid and Fred gave a torrid time to Red defenders (esp me who was man-marking him at times). Fortunately for us, Fred decided not to punish us when he broke through on a couple of occasions .
Rather low scoring day but it was due to the good defensive display by both sides with LL holding steady with a couple of good saves and Cheng Poh and Andrew doing well to cut off the main threats that came through the center.
Dave for the Reds did a good job in calming the Reds and his runs all over the field gave the much needed and timely options. Azmi had one of his better games I wld say and both defended well and gave good support to the mid.
Jumped on my ankle which promptly collapsed under the sheer weight! CRAP!
Not too much on the excitement scale but good solid game.
I would say David M held the midfield well. Dave H and Tim did some inspirational runs. While I did well initially, the last 20 mins or so was out of breath and slacked a little, perhaps causing the whites to come back. But whites were constantly pushing for goals and in the end duly deserved them.
