Angelo, who played from 4 to 5 pm, joined us, to make 16.
Final line ups:
Reds: CH, Jason T, Lynz, Rajseran, Julius, John J, Mark T, Rajiv Whites: Jye, Raminder, Tim T, Kelvin X, Dan B, Reza, Phang, Angelo
We found Angelo before the game started. Phang was late, so I stepped out to wait for him. As it wasn't clear he would be arriving, I went in in place of Angelo. When Phang arrived, Angelo sportingly came back in.
The game was even for the first 20 minutes or so, without a goal. Whites broke the deadlock, before extending it to 2-0, 3-1 and 4-2.
At this stage, possession was still fairly even, but Whites were beginning to create more chances. In the last 20 minutes, Whites grew in confidence, while Reds were beginning to struggle. Whites started putting away their chances, and extended their lead to 9-2, which was the final score.
I don't think anyone played badly - Whites were just the better team. They defended well and took their chances well.
Line ups were tough for this one, as there were several players who had not played with us at Turf City before. Nevertheless, despite the heavy defeat, it was a fairly enjoyable game.
I agree that it was the Whites defending which won it for them. Reds were playing a more counter-attacking style, with the likes of CH and John J breaking forward. But whites defending in numbers made that difficult.
Dont feel shy guys , Reds did not only loss but got Trashed . There was no way i would have said that game was even . For the first 20 mins maybe because Dan was playing keeper and we were playing 7 aside for awhile with Rajiv still waiting for Tim;s friend to turn up and then it was history .
Hurt me with the Truth but Never Comfort me with a Lie
I totally agree with Raj that the game was totally one sided. Reds were utterly thrashed and for long periods of the game chasing shadows.
However kudos to Rajiv for coming up with the line ups week in week out. There were several new players last week so there was no way for Rajiv to gauge the standard of the lineups effectively last Saturday.
Just a minor input, i think it is a good idea generally to split Raminder and Dan B up into 2 different teams. They are both fit, skilful players with goals in them. Therefore putting both in the same team would tend to create an unbalanced line up.
