reds got off to a better start n whites were trailing 2 goals to 4 goals after about 25 min. then whites started to get the upper hand for a while and took a 5:4 lead. stephen organized the defense around jason n jim very well. tristan led the midfield in a similar style as boris and was supported by the physically strong players like eddie and philip. i did the usual pressing upfront. the last part was a good effort from both teams with good chances and goals on both sides. final score was 8:7 (?) for whites i believe.

Thanks Rainer. As for line ups: Ilker and David H are out, but Rainer is in. Revised line ups: Whites: Eddie G, Tristan, Philip S, Stephen C, Jim B, Jason M, Rainer Reds: David T, Mark Li, Kelvin H, Derian, Jessen, Chern Yang, Sean L Back to 7-a-side .... .... David T's team taking the lead, and the other team coming back later is a familiar pattern: .... * We always have new players, or players who haven't played together before, so they always end up on the other team, and it takes them a while to develop any kind of understanding. * In the meantime, the group of friends, who already have an understanding, can be expected to pull away with a big lead, leaving the other team to catch up, which can be frustrating. The fact that David and his friends play from 7 to 9 pm before our game is actually all the more reason to split them up. Although the other team usually closes the gap towards the end as exhaustion catches up with them, it makes for consistently lop-sided games, where they take a big lead early on, and the other team closes the gap towards the end. If David's friends were split up between the two teams, the greater fatigue of one team wouldn't be a factor, and the games would be more even, not only between the two teams, but over the course of the game as well. On this occasion, it appears that David T's team didn't pull away as much in the early stages as they had on previous occasions, and the other team started their comeback earlier, enabling them to take the lead. I understand a couple of players on David T's team were carrying injuries, so that might have been a factor. Alternatively, as there were a few players with Whites who have previously played in our regular Thursday night game against David T's team, perhaps the others are beginning to get a measure of David T's team. Add any other comments below.

carrying injuries are no excuses if we sign up to play...we lost yet again.. i think the familiar pattern sounds like an arsenal..we probably lack that killer instinct now to finish off games..but dun worry we wun retire yet haha we are going to come back stronger next week!we hate losing..especially streaks!!!!
regarding gameplay, reds started off more composed getting 2 goals at the start whilst the whites were getting organized. Once whites settled, it was fairly competitive. Whites were more pressing, not allowing reds to settle and move the ball freely, and when whites attacked, they sent men forward which allowed them to take a lot of long shots which went into the back of the net. Reds were feeding off more on the counters and mis-passes by whites and were just not taking the long range shots. In the end, whites took a lead of 8:6 before reds tucked another consolation goal for the final score of 8:7 to the whites.
Rematch!!lol

Thanks lads for letting me win my first game as a married man! To be honest, at 4-0 I was thinking to myself we were goners, but great come back! See you all in a year or so! Cheers!
