This thread currently deals with the above subject matter. Announcements and developments relating to the subject matter are posted below. Go to the last page (by clicking the largest number to the left of "NEXT >>" above) for the latest announcement/development. As the subject matter has been modified from time to time, as described in various posts below, any given post may not fall squarely within the subject matter. As at 17 February 2014, this first post on this thread was: The Sunday, 6 to 7 pm slot at the Premier Pitch will be alternated between a regular game on the big pitch and a mixed game on the small pitch until numbers increase for the regular game, and we have more female players for the mixed game. However, as next weekend is a long weekend for National Day on Monday, 9 August 2010, instead of having the extra regular game at the Premier Pitch from 6 to 7 pm on Sunday, I will schedule it for Monday from 5 to 6 pm. Having games on public holidays from 5 to 6 pm at the Premier Pitch means they are treated the same way as Sunday games. There will be no night game scheduled for The Cage on Monday, 9 August 2010. I will try to re-start the Monday night game at The Cage from 16 August 2010 onwards. The Cage have informed me that for September 2010, there are no pitches available on Thursdays, 9 to 10 pm. The Thursday night game will therefore be switched to Sports Planet. ( This is how we ended up switching the Tuesday night game from The Cage to Sports Planet!) I will move the game there earlier, from 19 August 2010 onwards. We will start on the small pitch, but if the slot is popular, I will move it to the big pitch (subject to availability). The big pitch has proven popular for the Tuesday night game.

Quite a few injuries around, so I'll postpone the re-start of the Monday night game at The Cage. Not just groin strains, but a few hamstrings as well.

On second thoughts, we have a number of new players and players coming back to play. Further, from next week onwards, the Thursday night game will be at Sports Planet, so those who have been playing Thursday nights at The Cage who want to stick with The Cage have the choice of switching to either Wednesday night or Monday night. Although we already have an extra game on Sunday evening, 6 to 7 pm, this weekend, it is the mixed game on the small pitch, so another game on Monday at The Cage shouldn't be too much of a strain on our numbers.

The women's game went ahead yesterday on a small pitch. The remaining small pitch for the 6 to 7 pm slot at the Premier Pitch was transferred to Timmy. Timmy had 4 other friends, and we managed to get another 7 from our participants without too much difficulty (including three who were in reserve for the 5 to 6 pm game), to give us a 6-a-side game. As we appear to have the numbers, I'll stick with a second regular game from 6 to 7 pm this Sunday. There have been other players in reserve for the 5 to 6 pm game who didn't get to play. Hopefully, those who don't get a place in the 5 to 6 pm game will consider the 6 to 7 pm game. I asked Hur Yuin yesterday morning if the women can have their game this weekend on Saturday from 5 to 6 pm. She replied today to say that they can.

As next Friday is a public holiday ( Hari Raya Puasa), we will again have a game from 5 to 6 pm at the Premier Pitch. As it is a long weekend, I will not have the extra game from 6 to 7 pm at the Premier Pitch on Sunday. For long weekends, I assume a lot of players will be away, so we won't have enough players for two games on Sunday. On the other hand, with the extra game on the public holiday, we should have enough places for everyone who wants to play on the big pitch at the Premier Pitch over the weekend.

The games on Friday and Saturday were cancelled. A lot of players away or with other plans for the long weekend, but also quite a few injuries around. The Monday night game is also cancelled. There is no pitch available next Saturday at the Premier Pitch as all the pitches have been block booked for an event.

There is no pitch available at Sports Planet before 10 pm next Tuesday. As stated earlier, no pitches are available on Tuesdays at The Cage either, so I have booked a small pitch at Sports Planet from 10 to 11 pm. We've had the same situation arise recently. .... No pitch is available from 9 to 10 pm at any of our regular venues on Thursday, 2 September 2010, so I'll try a 10 to 11 pm slot. As it is a Thursday, I am minded to stick with Sports Planet. However, on that occasion, a pitch for the 9 to 10 pm slot became available after all on 2 September 2010, so the game was brought forward. Another "opportunity" to try out a 10 to 11 pm slot! Anyway, from next week onwards, I also have the big pitch at Sports Planet on Thursdays.

We only had the small pitch from 5 to 6 pm yesterday (Saturday) at the Premier Pitch, but we have struggled to fill the big pitch from 4 to 5 pm for a few Saturdays before that. From October 2010 onwards, I have the big pitch at the Premier Pitch on Saturday for both 4 to 5 pm and 5 to 6 pm. The 5 to 6 pm slot is very popular on Sundays, and it might be a bit easier to fill places for the 5 to 6 pm slot on Saturdays as well, so I'll switch the game on Saturdays to the later time from October 2010 onwards, and cancel the 4 to 5 pm booking. For some time now, I've had the big pitch at the Premier Pitch from 5 to 7 pm on Sundays. The 5 to 6 pm time slot is very popular and and with so many more wanting to play, we started to have a 6 to 7 pm slot. However, we haven't had a regular game from 6 to 7 pm over the last two weeks. Instead, the women have taken over the 6 to 7 pm slot over the past two weeks. If the women want to continue on Sundays from 6 to 7 pm at the Premier Pitch, I will let them have the booking. If we need a second game on Sundays, it will be at Sports Planet. We were close to having a game there today. However, I hope that before that, the Saturday game at the Premier Pitch will pick up again. From next week onwards until the end of the year, we have the big pitch at Sports Planet on both Tuesdays and Thursdays. However, if any game on the big pitch at Sports Planet is slow to pick up, I will try to switch the game to the small pitch. Unlike at the Premier Pitch, it can be difficult to switch at Sports Planet. If we only have the big pitch at Sports Planet, but we don't have enough players for the big pitch, the game will have to be cancelled, even if we have enough for the small pitch. I'll put off re-starting the Monday night game at The Cage for now. However, if the Thursday game is regularly cancelled due to insufficient players, I will try to re-start the Monday night game in place of the Thursday night game.

We had reserves for both the Saturday and Sunday games at the Premier Pitch this weekend, but in the end, with withdrawals from the Sunday game, everyone who wanted to play got a game, including Salman, who was reserve for Saturday, but got in for Sunday. The 6 to 7 pm booking of a big pitch at the Premier Pitch is now being used for the women's game. If we need one more regular game at the weekend, it will be from 6 to 7 pm at Sports Planet. We were halfway to having a game there two weeks ago.

Filling Wednesday night at The Cage has been a struggle for a few weeks now. Last night, we were down to 6, but by pure luck, we managed to pick up 4 players after 7 pm and during the game. Andy N and his colleagues were taking up to 4 places, but now Andy N has switched to Tuesdays (as he has something else on Wednesdays), and with Mike A and Andy M (who also sometimes played on Wednesday nights) away, and several others who might play Wednesday nights either playing on other nights or injured, I see it being a struggle to fill Wednesday nights for some time to come. Also, Sports Planet appears to be the more popular venue now, especially with the availability of the big pitch for 7-a-side games on Tuesday and Thursday nights. As such, I will not be scheduling a Wednesday night game next week and perhaps for some time to come. If and when we re-start a Wednesday night game, it may well be at Sports Planet. If there is to be a weeknight game at The Cage, it will most likely be on Monday night. One advantage of not having any games at The Cage is that I only have to deal with two venues instead of three. However, I am aware that with its more central location, and proximity to an MRT station, The Cage is far more convenient location for several players, especially on weeknights.
