There was a change to the advertised lineups. Hope i've got this right but Raahol pulled out, Ray C took his place for Whites
Whites: Ray C, Vinod, Reza, Tim T, Edmund, David M, Julius, Arijit Reds: Nordin, Ben K, Rajiv, Vincent C, Azmi, Kenny, Simon C, Ray Yap
The game started brightly with both teams passing the ball well and taking their initial chances. Whites led 2-1, but reds then came into their element and deservedly took the lead. Whites continued to move the ball around well, hitting the post twice. By now though Reds had built up a comfortable lead and leveling the scores looked unlikely.
Thanks all for a hard fought good game. Credit to the guys who also played 4-5 and didnt stop running, even when we were 15 mins into injury time!
I think the final score was 7-4 to reds. Some new faces in Reds but the front players linked very well and Ben was influential in the center mid. Simon I understand was playing his last game in sg, scored hattrick. Nothing else to add, enjoyable game indeed.
Close with the scoreline Azmi. Scoring went (Reds first) - 1-0, 1-2, 6-2, 6-3, 7-3.
Both sides had good spells, and chances were even, but Reds put the ball away more of theirs.
Reds scored a few from long diagonal balls into the edge of the Whites' D, which Whites defence failed to pick up. Simon ghosted in onto a few of them.
The only completely new player was Ben. A new player can shift the balance one way or the other, and Ben was certainly the most influential player for Reds, both with the ground he covered and his distribution. From his earlier e-mail to me, I thought he would be average or even below average.
