Whites just edged it 8 - 7 with the last goal resulting from pretty much the last kick of the game.
J-V was ~ 10 mins late, so Blacks started with a guest player - one of Ryan or William who were hanging out at the Cage looking for a game. Blacks scored first (a thunderous pile driver from Andy - he's been making a habit of this lately), but Whites then took control to lead 3 to 1.
J-V's entry tipped the balance to Blacks somewhat and they moved into the lead, maintaining at least a two goal cushion over the next half hour. However, Whites kept within striking distance and good team play saw us drawing even at 7 each with a couple of minutes left. Last goal came with virtually the last kick - it fell for Whites, but really could have gone either way.
I think everyone had pretty solid run outs in this game. Some, however, apparently had their minds on Christmas pudding at crucial points in the game, resulting in a couple of goal-keeping howlers for Blacks On Whites side, Srini & Eam managed to keep out of each other's hair this time... they even managed to combine nicely on a couple of occasions.
Hard to pick MOM for this game, but Andy & Murray were solid for Blacks as usual while Benny had a decent debut game for Whites. Dave is my pick for the "Christams Spirit" award
Good write up Bobby and cracking game. I guess the turning point was my dreadful performance in goal at the end. Sorry boys but the arms and legs felt like jelly at the end of the game. Couldn't catch a packet of sweets that night! Merry Christmas and see you in Jan!
