Both teams took to the field with whites playing with one players less in the first 10 mins. Whites setup a defensive stand with murray, chen hong, jeff in defense, chih seng and kelvin up top and Justin in goal and tried to hit on counters. Whites drew first blood and reds equalized shortly after, whites pushed on and got a second and reds pegged whites back with a soft goal.
It was even-steven in the overall play and the score reflected the balance at 2-2. Whites then pulled away to open up a significant lead. Reds scored a few goals to breathe down the white's neck and the score was 6-4 at one point. A second surge of whites' goals buried the reds making the final score 5/6 goals more to the white.
On paper the team looked almost balance however whites showed up and settled in quickly and stuck to their game plan throughout the contest. Communication was key to the whites with everyone giving instructions to each other to trackback, time, man-on and urging to attack the space. Kelvin was the MOM for whites; in fact MOM for the game with his hustling offensively and sticking in goals and even got one with his right foot and hardly put a wrong foot yesterday. Throughout the night whites was stable, closing down folks quickly - one example was three white players dispossessed Alex at mid-way, did a rapid counter, quick inter-passing and stuck the ball at the back of the net. That was how it was with white's play yesterday.
Reds was almost all over the place, defense was stretched and did not attack as a team as solo runs or balls down the channel were wasted most of the time. No one took control of the midfield leaving easy second ball to be picked up by the whites. The goals whites got to peg the reds was the only time some interplay happen among the red players and also a bullet grounder by Rai.
All in all, i think the team with better organization and communication won.

Thanks Jeff. As for line ups: The line ups agreed between Jeff and Rai: Red: Rai, Joel Ong, Willy 2, Song Chuan, Boon Yick , Alex and Kenji White: Jeff, Chih Seng, Murray, Glenn F, Kelvin Lee, Justin and Chen Hong .... I didn't think about the personnel yesterday, but looking at it now, Whites were all regulars while Reds had only 3 regulars, including two of our older players in Boon Yick and Alex, and the new player. The experience of a particular game/venue makes a lot of difference, especially when it comes to a "organization and communication". With new players playing, remind me that I should do the line ups. I adhere fairly strictly to balancing the regulars between the two sides, perhaps having more on the side with newer players. When I suggest something different, anyone is free to point out to me that it is not consistent with some other stated principle.

Don't mean to offend anyone but quoting a previous feedback from Turf City

Unfortunately the Red TEAM didnt turn up last night .. only 7 players wearing red. It was tight at the beginning but the difference proved to be too much after awhile. Red players were running all over the place trying to do things almost single handedly. Plenty of "noise" bickering with each other and self grumbling of "what would have been".
But most importantly no one was even keen to track back to cover/defend. Song Chuan was outstanding for us. I held back after pulling my hamstring halfway into the game. Unfortunately Reds couldn't perform a "double" comeback for the week.
One of those rare nights i am afraid but still a good workout.

Think you getting confused with the Reds and Whites... but I'm just nitpicking.... Surprised I actually care enough to read reports of games which I am not even playing in Both teams took to the field with reds playing with one players less in the first 10 mins. It was even-steven in the overall play and the score reflected the balance at 2-2. Reds then pulled away to open up a significant lead. Whites scored a few goals to breathe down the red's neck (not rednecks) and the score was 6-4 at one point. A second surge of reds' goals buried the whites making the final score 5/6 goals more to the white. On paper the team looked almost balance however whites showed up and settled in quickly and stuck to their game plan throughout the contest. Think you getting confused with the Reds and Whites... but I'm just nitpicking.... .... The first two paragraphs. I've switched the colours round. The redneck joke doesn't work anymore though, so I've removed it. Perhaps Jeff was so intent on working that in he got the colours mixed up for those paragraphs.
