lol i found a time to get myself into the thread [on Weekend Turf City v Weeknight East Coast]!! well all these challenge matches cant not involve my thursday khalsa peeps right??? since the east coast peeps can play on thursdays..i was wondering if they would consider a 2-legged thursday game at east coast and khalsa? if they prefer a tuesday east coast session also shouldnt be a problem, just that it has to be a week apart haha as some of my pals only have a one game a week credit.. i have asked my pals and they are pretty keen to get it on..just that trying to make sure i have the numbers for both legs and preferably the same people too.. i am not sure if i can get a team for next week 23rd at east coast so can rajiv hold the slot first while i check it out? but all this rests with the east coast peeps deciding whether they would like to accept the challenge haha as for rules..hmm..i have played at both venues..so if they stick to the usual playing styles at both venues then i think my team has no qualms about it.. the difference is that khalsa play to lines while ecp no out at the sides and different ball sizes.. so what say the east coast peeps?
lol i guess we dun have a problem with boots..you can ask jessen what he uses haha by the way he belongs to my team..you cant add him to your east coast team.. March sounds far..based on my calculations, i think this coming thursday should be ok for 1 leg..either at east coast or khalsa..
the return leg though will probably be in march 2nd week.. allows recoveries from malicious challenges and damaging defeats as well as re-organization for ECP peeps haha kidding.. but more likely due to work commitments..this can be finalized later.. can we request Rajiv to be referee and who might be a good story writer to be present!! have a good weekend! i'll try to confirm over this weekend if i have enough players for the coming thursday..but let me know if its going to be at khalsa or ECP and how many a-side game if at ECP. Thanks.
yup we should have one leg at ECP and one leg at Khalsa.. shall give ECP people a chance to choose where they would like to play the first leg.. house rules for either venues..khalsa is 7-a-side, ECP up to your preference for 7 or 8-a-side. i'll confirm by sunday evening if i can get 7 or 8 players for the coming thursday 23 Feb, but let me know if its 7 or 8-a-side at ECP, if that is where you all wanna play the first leg. But if its at khalsa then definitely 7 will suffice.
What is very disappointing is that several players at both Khalsa (before the above change) and East Coast have simply ignored the rules, rather than engaging in a discussion on this thread as to why they think blades are preferable to all-weather astro shoes, despite the safety concerns, and despite the issue being repeatedly highlighted under the Playing Rules & Principles, and the monthly e-mail Updates.
I am prepared to review the position for East Coast in the same way as as for Khalsa. However, at some stage, rules do need to be set down, and once set down, they will, at some stage, have to be enforced.
Players who haven't taken the opportunity of this thread to be heard over the past one and a half years still have ample opportunity to be heard. If players don't take this opportunity, and the rule is settled in a way that they disagree with or do not like, [red]they only have themselves to blame[/red].
If you have any opinion on the matter, please add it there.
Kelvin informs me that David T has agreed to play this Thursday (23 February 2012) with the first leg at East Coast.
Feel free to post your respective teams on this thread. I'll only count it in my records as a game played for an individual player if at least two-thirds of his team (ie, at least 5 players) are approved regulars.
