Evenly matched game for 1st 15 minutes. Scores tied at 3 each. Highlight was a sweet volley from his own half by Angelo that sailed over the white keeper (me ) & into goal.
Whites then hit a purple patch and pulled away to lead by 5 or 6 goals. Reds were frustrated & started bickering amongst themselves, but were probably still only a re-org away from mounting a comeback.
Unfortunately one of the whites (Hong Wei?) left abruptly during the game. Not sure what prompted his premature departure, but as a consequence, reds were restricted to scoring from within the D. This killed the spirit of the game somewhat & whites held on to the lead as the game wound down.
Stan called me this morning to ask for a phone number. In passing, he mentioned that his team lost 5-25. I said I was surprised, as his team had more of the regulars. He said the team were surprised too, but "it was all good fun".
I don't know what were his expectations but I know Hong Wei from army. I'll invite him back to play the next time round, he deleted his account in a fit of anger. Probably just the company he was playing with so he didn't enjoy and if you don't enjoy then no point playing right?
We have all sorts for our games David, and sometimes, you have to take the bad with the good. Walking out of a game doesn't really help. All the more surprising as his team were leading comfortably at the time. Even though they were losing badly, no one from the other team walked out.
He can play as your guest when you're playing, but no point him registering again right? If he plays as your guest, you're responsible for moderating his mood.
