I will let others to take the $2 on this . But i am retiring from 7 aside match for sure. Not good for my Blood pressure . It got worst last 10 mins of the match.
But good game by the Reds - my only threat was Dan . Never stopped running . If the Whites midfield did hold back and played slightly defensive , the Whites could have held on to the lead . Think is a good game for most of us to learn and use this as a lesson when your team is leading the next time .
When one team is down , they are suppose to be more desperate to score thus giving more space for there other team to counter but it ended up the other way round .
Hurt me with the Truth but Never Comfort me with a Lie
There's good and bad sides of 7 and 8 aside though, don't think I need to state the obvious. But admittedly I was quite excited with the lineups, at the same worried I might not be able to live up to the standard of these guys.
Personally I think reds had the better possession but whites were also dangerous going on the attack. A very tight game from the start but Lynz broke the deadlock from a corner and headed it in unchallenged. It stayed that way for quite some time until a high pass from sushil found Elvin in the box and he headed in from what looked like an impossible angle. It looked likely to be a low scoring game until the last 10 mins or so when Lynz dispossed, ran passed 2 defenders and made a shot that was too fast for me to react( or maybe I was slow). Minutes later Elvin smashed in the equalizer from one of the many reds attack and finally Sushil grabbed a late winner from a loose ball in front of goal. Final score 3-2 to reds but most importantly I think everyone will agree that it was a tough and exciting match.
Interestingly both goals conceded by reds was when I was the goalie and both times scored by Lynz. So I've hit quota for a free ride again but I cycled there yesterday..maybe I'll claim it next time.
7 a side games are tough and with the players in this game, it was set up for a tight and intense game. Overall, a good game with lots of hard running, end to end stuff. The score was 1-1 for 45 mins when Whites made it 2-1 with 10 mins to go. Reds piled on the pressure and as Whites were struggling with tiredness, Reds equalised and at the last min, snuck home with a 3-2 win. For the whites, Raj played well in defence to contain Reds attack especially Dan B... who had lots of space to run into. Brendan and Ganesh also worked hard in midfield. Reds were always dangerous with Dan, Elvin and Amraesh in attack. In 7 a side, the players tire quicker thus keeping the shape and passing the ball becomes important so as not to use up unnecessary energy. Reds did this much better towards the end. It also did not help when Whites got frustrated and yelling at each other ... as Damian mentioned in another post, it does have a negative impact to the whole team when maintaining composure for a comeback is probably more effective. Both set of players played really hard and we were all exhausted after that ( except for Babs ... crazy guy played on in the second game.. ....) Azmi, inflation now... you need 3 goals la ......
Wah Lynz you drive a hard bargain. So difficult to let you score 2 goals you asking for 3 now. Nowadays the games are heavily scrutinized, can't give you 3 goals at 1 time la. You take installment plan?
