Kelvin Au has two votes, but with Justin, Chen Hong and Murray back at East Coast, Bobby is the only other player with a vote. I would usually suggest line ups, but: Would it be ok to have me and my pals in one team? We've been through this issue a lot on the "Line Ups" thread. I'm not going to decide. David T and his friends (+ brother are) - Wilson, Jessen, Mark Li, Derian, Sean Luo, David T and Daniel T2. The rest would be - Brendan, Charles, Bobby, Kelvin Au, Melvin Au, Alwyn, Poh Keng. The rest are fairly strong, just that some of them have never played together before. And I don't know Charles or Alwyn. I don't think Kelvin and Melvin had started playing when Poh Keng used to play at East Coast. Bobby would know Poh Keng from 2009/2010, while Brendan played with Poh Keng last Saturday. Between Kelvin, Bobby and Brendan (who has been playing regularly on Thursdays at Khalsa), they might know all the players. Perhaps they can discuss it, and decide if it would be fair. Final say is Kelvin's, with 2 votes. If they decide to mix the players up, let me know, and I'll suggest line ups, with Kelvin as captain of 1 team, and Bobby of the other. .... so anti social David Can we be yor pals please? .... as for being a pal, no problem Kelvin..could you start being a pal after agreeing to my request earlier haha anyway have sent the insider Jessen to go sweet talk you..hopefully he will be paying for your dinner later! .... think should be ok to accomodate David and friends. I don't know enough of all the players to make a meaningful contribution I think is a good split, looks a good game, but as you say cliquey I really can't assess whether the lineups are fair or not. But if Rajiv and/or David think they are more or less even (ie. 'the rest' have a fighting chance) then I think it's fine. No further comments? Especially from those playing? none further.. reds - david t n friends whites - brendan, kelvin, melvin, poh keng, alwyn, bobby, charles from my past experiences.. the rest will take some time to jive n we will score early then after 15 mins the rest will start scoring n in the end we will tire n the final score will b quite even.. most importantly is dun give up n make sure u get a good sweat..its only an hour so run your lungs out and it will b a competitve game Line ups agreed between David T and Kelvin Au (probably with some arm twisting by Jessen): Whites: Brendan, Charles, Bobby, Kelvin Au (c), Melvin Au, Alwyn, Poh Keng. Reds: Wilson, Jessen, Mark Li, Derian, Sean Luo, David T (c), Daniel T2 Add any comments about the game below.

A very tightly contested game in the end. David T and friends raced to a 2-0 lead with their passing and movement off the ball to much for Whites. Reds started to become a little complacent and missed a couple of sitters which would have put the game beyond doubt. At 2-0 down, Kelvin switched to an unorthodox 3-3 formation which really opened the midfield up. However Whites were able to defend well and then used their 3 forwards on the break to score 3 unanswered goals and take the lead. Reds came back to 3-3 but Whites had the last say claiming a 4-3 victory having taken advantage of Red's fatigue. I'm fairly certain the result would have been difefrent if David T and friends hadn't played 2 hours earlier. Good game all round though!

Actually it wouldn't have mattered about the earlier 2 hours, which would have been an excuse. Not all 7 of us played 2 hours earlier anyway. Tactical formations made a lot of difference in the game. As always, Reds started fast off the blocks to make it 2-0, while the Whites were trying to organize and get into shape. However, the Whites tactical play of packing their half and attacking off quick counter attacks with good offensive support really paid dividends. Reds could hardly get their passing fluidity, with Whites tightening their hold on midfield. Even the long balls did not work as the space in the Whites half was very packed. In the end it was a masterful tactical victory by Whites which was fully well deserved. We request to have a re-match!!haha

$2 credit to Brendan for a first report. $1 credit to each of Kelvin Au and David T as team captains.

By the way, can I not be captain in future? I don't want to have to think......

By the way Brendan, the formation was more of a 3-3-0 - pack defence/midfield, and attack on the counter.
3-2-1 meant that we couldn't cover enough width when defending in midfield. The lone forward was just chasing shadows upfront.. and because the pitch is wide, they countered it easily by switching flanks easily.
