Whites: Jye, CH, Ganesh, Poh Keng, Imran, Sushil, Logan, Ram Reds: Nick H, Rainer, Desmond, Kenny, Arijit, Babs, Timmy, Steve G
I understand the following:
* Ram didn't show, so with the extra man, Reds were restricted to scoring within the penalty D. * Reds led from early on until about 15 minutes before the end. * Rainer picked up an injury about after 45 minutes and it continued as 7-a-side, and back to the usual rules. * Whites scored 5 in the last 10 minutes to win 7-4.

Succinctly summarised in your four points Rajiv but it would not do justice to the game. After the disappointment of losing has subsided, I have to take my hat off to the Whites for one of the most impressive comebacks ever.
On the day, I would have said that we lost our shape after Rainer went off injured but on further reflection, I think the Whites would still have made a comeback with Rainer on the pitch. They just wanted it more at the end.
It all seemed so different at the 40 minute mark when we were leading two-nil and I was thinking that this might finally be the game when we keep a clean sheet. Even when Whites scored one, we scored another to make it 3-1 at the 45 minute mark.
After the stoppage for Rainer (there was an earlier stoppage for an injury to Imran), the Whites played like men possessed. Poh Keng tormented us on one wing while CH did us on the other. Imran's constant movement also pulled our defence all over the place leaving gaps for the likes of Ganesh and Sushil.
Hopes for a victory (let alone a clean sheet) disappeared as the Whites ran in four goals in a very short space of time. Babs and Nick were increasingly frustrated as we just couldn't seem to work the ball out to them.
All said, another good workout played in the right spirit and kudos to all the players in White and their never say die spirit.
Nicely summed up by Desmond so not much to add to the game itself. I would however like to apologise to Timmy for berating him during the match, I think a combination of how the game was panning out towards the end coupled with me making 4/5 good runs into space & not being given the obvious pass led to the outburst. Nonetheless I should of kept calm & not shouted. I missed Timmy before I left so will shake his hand and apologise next time I see him.
bad day in the office for reds. i was out after 30 min. only good thing about it is that it made the numbers even as i was nt able to volunteer as goalkeeper either. unfortunately, my lingaments are screwed so have to sit out for a few weeks.
have nt realized that imran actually got my hand in his face earlier. sorry about that again.
as for the game...i saw the rest from the sidelines. whites really got stronger n stronger with ganesh, pk, and ch scoring nicely with accurate shots. not entirely sure what reds could have done better. maybe we did lack that 'big guy' i.e. a full back with jye, sushil and logan all on the whites' team. maybe we should have played steve as left back and timmy on the wing instead? open for discussion.
Hi Babs, no worries for the apologies. Let's shake hands next time will do and we used to played very well together on the left side
I was quite enjoying my first soccer game after Sundown Marathon and long break. To me, the reds was having control the game in first 30 mins, but also missed many good chances to lead more.
Meantime, my stamina not allows me to play wing and defend side & central at same time yet. So even I did score 3rd goal for reds, the whole defend system already unbalance for last 20 mins. I think Nick, Steve and Rainer played attack very well in front and we need stronger players like them to score and pressure the whites’ defense. Babs also defended quite well in midfield and up to attack few times. I was too focusing on my left with Steve & Nick’s position and released Babs was up and in better position few times after passed out the ball. Maybe next time Babs can give me some hints when he up to attack if we play different side.
Overall was a great work out for all I guess and wish Rainer recover soon! Cheers...
