Beers after the regular Saturday game at Turf City has become a regular thing. So far, we've had: .... Week 1 - Babs - Tiger Beer Week 2 - Jye - Becks Beer Week 3 - Rockstar - Tiger Beer Week 4 - Arjit - Mixed Selection of Beer Week 5 - Rainer - Corona Extra Beer Week 6 - Brendan – James Boags Week 7 - Fred – Kronenbourg (Hobbit size bottles) Week 8 - Babs – Cobra Beer Week 9 - Jye – Becks/Corona Beer Week 10 - None. We drank in Piccotin instead. Week 11 – Arjit – Mixed selection including 8.8% Barons Week 12 - Rainer – Heineken Few Weeks Break Week 1 – Brendan – James Boags Week 2 – Martijn – Heineken Week 3 – Lynz – Heineken & Stella Week 4 -  ? Week 5 - Babs Week 6 - Arjit Week 7 - Two considerations: * There are the odd casual players who "freeload", ie, play once in a while, get a beer, but don't get round to taking a turn. * There are players who don't drink beer, or don't want a beer after the game. I wouldn't want to deter either of the above category of players from putting their name down for the Saturday game. At the same time, I wouldn't want those who take turns to bring beer to feel there are other players who regularly "freeload". A solution would be to have a Saturday Beer Club. Players who want to participate in the rounds of beer each week can put their names down below. They can then take turns, bringing enough beer for "members", and perhaps a few spare for friends or to tempt non-members to sign up. It also allows those who are injured or not playing to turn up to have a beer. Those interested, add your name below! |

I probably will sponsor beer in Dec - at this moment is about playing and rushing back home for me. Babs, at some stage, you should limit the beers and the beer sponsors to those who sign up here. Apart from Rockstar, Fred was out injured for several weeks. And you and Brendan have been away on holiday at various times. It will have to boil down to how frequently each person has a turn, based on how often they turn up (whether to play or watch). You might need to take attendance separately for the beer club! |

It might actually be a members bar, but they don't stop users of facilities at the club from having a beer there. There's nothing to stop anyone from co-ordinating pre or post-game drinks for any of our games. Accordingly, I have re-named this thread "Pre & Post Game Drinks". Co-ordination and participation are entirely voluntary. |

As it's the 1 year anniversary since I started the Beer Sponsorship thing it's only right that it comes full circle back to me for this Saturday! Therefore I will be bringing the Cold one's to get all you fine men drunk! To commemorate the occasion, I've renamed the thread "Babsy's Saturday Beer Buds". Babsy's has a better ring to it than just "Babs's". And it's not like anyone else is organizing post-game drinks, either on the odd Saturday that Babs hasn't played, or for other games.
