Desmond yesterday suggested that as a matter of safety, we play to the side lines at East Coast, as we do at Khalsa and Turf City.
The safety issues include loose wires in the fencing, and the head-high horizontal beam, that run round the pitch:
* The beam poses a danger. It hasn't happened before, but if a tall player runs into or falls against the fence, he could hit his head against the beam. * There is a danger of loose wires poking, scratching or cutting players. It has happened a couple of times, to Eric and Kelvin Au.
Would playing to the side lines significantly reduce the risk of running into loose wires or the beam? The side lines are just a few inches from the the side fences.
I've added the above poll. I'll leave it open until a substantial number of those who play regularly at East Coast have voted.
