Public Holiday At The Grandstand (2) - 12 Feb 2013

We were stuck on 3 players last night. I started messaging, and we were up to 9 by about 10 pm. We got to 14 before noon today, but with one withdrawal, we were back to 13.

We had 4 more by shortly after 2 pm, so with an extra player, I switched to the waitlist.

I'll pop by for the start of the game.

Andrew B was 15 minutes late, so Damian, who had been playing with the women from 3 to 5 pm, stepped into goal for Reds.

Whites probably had a bit more of the play and chances, but the score was still 0-0 when I left after 20 minutes.

Luckily Damian stand in sportingly for us as a keeper while waiting for Andrew. Game was very tight for close to 20 mins. A brilliant shot from Jason outside gave reds the lead. Slowly positions were shifted and whited kept theirs well. Rainer upfront supported by lynz and gang. Whites scored 5 after and won the game 5-1. The scorline was not what the game was. It was competitive and reds were unlucky with couple of shots and whites had some good saves. There was an old man in whites who were briliant. Playing wise does not reflect his age! Sorry i dont know his name. Overall a good workout..

very enjoyable game, i thought. think whites had more experience and found a good shape. re yaseen - i put up a claim some time back basically saying that 'experience' is key to success in our games. 'experience' meaning either a) being old or b) having played lots of giffa games.
