We had 16 last night, but with several withdrawals this morning: We were back to 14 by 1.32 pm. I suggest: .... The most regular Sunday player on each team can be captain. For Team 1, that would be Anthony. For Team 2, it could be either Tan Wee or Damian. Tan Wee has 19 games over the current 6 month period, Damian 17, so Tan Wee would get in ahead of Damian. Line ups and colours confirmed by 3 pm. Dave H has requested white. Tan Wee was concerned that his team lacked experience. Tan Wee and Anthony have agreed to swap [players]. Line ups and colours confirmed as follows: Whites: Rockstar, Anthony (c), Dom F, Kenny, Fred, Dave H, Andrew Y Reds: Tim T, Tan Wee (c), Anthony G, Timmy, Damian Y, Stan D Man, Kydd With Chen Hong looking for a game late on (3.33 pm), I was again left looking for a player. Finally: Gerard is in. I'll assign Chen Hong ... and Gerard to one team each. Up to team selectors to make any adjustments. Whites: Rockstar, Anthony (c), Dom F, Kenny, Fred, Dave H, Andrew Y, Chen Hong Reds: Tim T, Tan Wee (c), Anthony G, Timmy, Damian Y, Stan D Man, Kydd, Gerard Add any comments about the game below.

Should have stayed at home . Line up was not balanced which I have voiced out before game but was told we had the best player with us and that is Dom . Never played with him before . 5 defense in a team vs well balanced team = 10 -2 .

I'm not sure who you voiced your concerns to. When the line ups first went up, you were the first to respond on the WhatsApp group chat with "Nice am playing lone striker today. Promise not to bite anyone." The chat went on for a while with Suarez and biting jokes. The only person who raised concerns about the line ups with me was in fact Tan Wee, who felt his team did not have enough experienced players. I tried to re-assure him, but his concerns remained, so I asked Anthony if he minded swapping Tim T for Dom. Anthony was ok with it, so the swap took place. As Tan Wee had raised concerns, I would not have suggested that swap if I thought Dom was a better player than Tim T. It would have been very unfair for anyone to have said Dom is the best player on either side. Dom has had several good games since he first started playing, but he is relatively new, and is not going to carry a team. Later, when Chen Hong asked to play, and Gerard came in to make even numbers, I just split them between the teams. It was quite late in the day, and as Whites had several players with Saturday game experience, I thought they could hold their own. Anyway, it is always open to team captains to swap players. The WhatsApp chat then turned to Babs saying he would turn up to watch the game, and offering to be referee, so again, I'm not sure who you voiced your concerns to. "5 defense in a team vs well balanced team = 10 -2" - I take that to be the sum of your report? It doesn't meet the minimum 30 word requirement. I wouldn't have expected Whites to lose 2-10 unless several of the regulars on the team had an off day.

You have just qualified yourself for the $2 . As for the game - it was just not me that felt the same way. Last but not the least - hope you can keep the chat as discussion within those involved and not copying and pasting here otherwise it only makes others more careful on what they chat the next time - incase it haunts them in near future by surprise .! Yawn - sleepy - enjoy writing .

When i raised my concerns, we were still at 7-aside and with the lineups below.
Whites: Rockstar, Anthony (c), Tim, Kenny, Fred, Dave H, Andrew Y Reds: Dom, Tan Wee (c), Anthony G, Timmy, Damian Y, Stan D Man, Kydd
I didn't know kydd and the comment on him was skillful but less hardworking. Hence, the specific concern was that we won't have enough tactical discipline for a 7-aside game. Skillful wad probably an understatement given how he ran our attack.
Admittedly, Gerald coming in after the lineups were agreed did give us better balance in attack. He scored 4-5 goals and set up a couple for kydd.
I have been on the receiving end of 9-2 games and everyone knows that it is No fun. It's frustrating and I can take some blame here though I would be surprised if anyone thought this game had 9-2 written all over it when lineups came out.
To be fair, I thought everyone in red played real well and worked our socks off.

$2 credit to Tan Wee for a first report. $1 credit to Tan Wee and Anthony as team captains. Tan Wee, you asked me about Kydd after the swap. My reply was probably more skilful but less hardworking compared to Jake, who you had played with last week. Rockstar, don't waste my time with your whinging and whining, your disregard of the facts, and attempts to hide behind confidentiality when it doesn't apply. It has happened far too often. Next time, you will be permanently banned.

Rajiv - if it was someone else - you would have just closed your eyes .
So which part of my sentence hurt your feelings . Don't threaten me with your permanent ban - not paying you extras for this .

Rockstar, I would have replied to anyone the same way: * Pointed out I don't know who you raised your concerns with - the chat on the WhatsApp group chat never touched on the balance of the teams. * How Dom came to be on your team, and the unfairness of your comment about him. Your following response has brought you the warning: You have just qualified yourself for the $2 . I have previously spelt out to you: Rockstar, confidential communications about personal issues or issues with other players are always confidential. I've received several over the years (including from you) and never disclosed any. I've made it clear for a long time now that communications about our games generally, such as line ups (other than not wanting to be on the same side as another player), or results, are not confidential, .... We've had several discussions about these and related matters. I don't want to waste further time digging up more of them. I also don't want to waste my time repeating myself.

Rajiv
Which part of my conversation suggested that Don was a bad player ?
This is what actually happened. 10 min before the match , i suggested that the Reds were too strong and if we could make some changes but i was told that Don was the best player of Fiofafi as i have never heard of Dom .
We were already 3-0 down for the first 15 mins or so and we had to do more long ball passes as short passes did not work . I am voicing out the same way how some players in Whites discussed, either you want to take it positively or negatively , that is in your hands.
And once again , what i have mentioned before , they were all facts and i dont see any part that was pointing finger on you .
Anyway this is my last comment , have better things to do .

If you'd put this in your first post, we wouldn't have had this exchange, and you would have had the $2 credit for a first report.
What happens on the pitch is up to the captains. I have no problem with swaps, and in this case, after we had 2 late joiners, I specifically said up to the captains to make adjustments.
And whoever told you that Dom is our best player is either an idiot or was trying to be funny. It's like saying you're our best player.

I do enjoy both of your little tet a tet conversations Jiv & Raj!! And Raj you are silly to believe anyone who tells you Dom is the best player (he is good), as you already know full well I am the BEST player in GIFFA!!! Anyway my take on the game as an impartial if slightly drunk viewer is this: Reds passed the ball better, kept a better shape, and varied their attacks more than Whites. Crucially they were more clinical when through on goal. Kydd was unplayable yesterday, he scored 4 and created or was involved in the other 5 (Whites simply gave him far to much space and respect) and he ripped them apart time and again! Anthony was always dangerous and involved down the left & Gerard was clever with his movement and had quite a few tap ins. To be fair the Whites did create chances, first a great long ball from Raj and good header from Fred, then Dave H through ball and good finish from Fred, 5-2. At that point Dave created further chances and Raj played another 3 pinpoint long balls but Fred's earlier clinical finishing had deserted him which is natural as no one can score every chance (except Kydd that day). If 1 or 2 of those go in it's game on, but small are the differences at times in GIFFA games! From there, Tim.T, Kydd, Tan Wee, Gerrard etc played fast slick passing moves and ruthlessly finished everything alas 9-2! Whites became predictable with the use of the long ball from the back which Stan and Damian clocked onto and dealt with and it became all to easy for Reds to defend, more variation was needed as the long ball bypassed the whole White midfield whilst asking to much of Fred and squandering possession to a team who were in the mood to attack and pass fast and punish! Reds clocked on to the long ball threat and adjusted and Whites failed to see the threat and deal with Kydd hence the scoreline! Someone should have got tight onto him and stopped him playing, they had plenty of defenders as Raj said yet not one could defend against him or get close, crazy! Anyway game played in good spirits, and was fun watching and shouting from the sidelines!
