We struggled to get to 12 before noon yesterday, but a couple of withdrawals in the afternoon left us still 1 short until past 7 pm despite Jon getting a second friend to play:
Shall we just go on? I'll try to find an extra player at the venue before the game.
Jon brought in his third friend of the day, to bring us back to 12:
Reds: Jon Soh, Amirul, Alex F, Angelo, David N, Louis
Whites: Tim Soh, Rajiv, Ben 6, Timmy, Tom E, Santosh
Ben and Santosh got a bit lost, so Angelo swapped over for the first 5 minutes. We re-set the scores when everyone arrived.
There wasn't a goal in it until 4-4. Then Whites extended their lead to 3 goals. From then on, whenever Reds pulled back to within 1, Whites restored the 3-goal margin, up to 12-9. Reds then scored 5 to take the lead for the first time since the start of the game - 14-12. It was then Whites turn to try to play catch up - every time Whites scored, Reds restored the 2 goal cushion, up to 16-14. Reds grabbed the last goal 5 minutes past 10 pm to bring the final score to Reds 17 Whites 14.
Reds probably had the better of the first half hour, but for Whites Ben and Timmy defended well, Santosh and Tom linked up well up front, and Tim Soh covered a lot of ground, to enable them to take and maintain the lead for much of the game. Timmy and Ben also did well to get forward whenever they could. Angelo also managed to miss a few chances for Reds.
Towards then end, as Reds tired, they lost their shape, and Alex, Amirul and Angelo started to make inroads for Reds in attack. However, the decisive factor was probably Jon's long range shooting. Not wanting to lose, he started hitting them from everywhere, and several went in.

$2 credit to Jon for doing the line ups. A further $2 credit to Jon for making sure the game went on.
