Although whites took the lead, reds eventually ran out 3-1 winners. Whites would have felt hard done by as a couple of the reds goals were soft but, having said that, whites did not create many scoring chances themselves. For the reds, Sushil was a tower of strength in defence while Lynz and Raminder controlled the game from the middle of the pitch. Raminder had a penalty saved by Arijit but an overall incident free game played in good spirit. Thanks to Nick for the beers.
Please add me to the list for next Saturday's game (is this how it works Rajiv?)
as for last sat... maybe it was the heat, maybe it was due to the red team or to whatever but I felt whites did nt play particularly well. reds deserved the 3:1 win. it was 2:1 for a long time until Fergus put the game to bed and whites out of their misery.
A very close game which stayed at 1-1 and 2-1 to Reds for a long while before Reds knicked a third goal. Credit to every Reds players, some who were fairly new playing together but everyone stuck to their roles and never lost confidence when down. Special mention to the defence of Sushil, ChenHong and XiongWei who were solid and contained everything that Whites threw with lethal strikers such as Nick and Rainer. Raminder in midfield and Fergus upfront counterpunched effectively with the 3 goals spread among Kien, Jon and Fergus. Whites had physically strong players with Jason, Babs and Nick and constantly pressured with Rainer lurking around the Reds' box but were unfortunate with their chances and a Reds defence that stood their ground that day. A tiring game on a warm day with good sportsmanship all round. Thanks to Nick for the Kirin beers... great stuff!
