However, there was still some concern about how the timing of the schedule thread might affect whether players are able to access the message board in time to put their name down before all the places fill up.
... if an approved player adds a comment to the report thread for the previous Saturday game (minimum 30 words), and adds a request to play in the following week's Saturday game, when I put up the schedule thread on the Monday morning, I will add his name to the list immediately. If more than one player does so, I will do so in the order in which they posted. .... If it works out, I will continue to do so until further notice.
As it addresses a certain concern, and players have to contribute something to earn this benefit, I will, as I said before, continue this until further notice.
the incentive system at work here! - getting 3 mio $ for being team selector, 2 mio $ for the first report, and a guaranteed spot in next week's game...
felt like a very good game. reds taking the lead 1:0, then a strong period for whites saw them pushing ahead 1:3. reds fought back to level before the game ended 3:4 for the whitey tighties in extra time.
admittedly, there was a wrong call when i acknowledged a hand-ball from whites but made the case it was outside the D. it should have been a penalty for reds in retrospect. but there was not much protest at all and the game will probably go down more for its sportsmanship than for its result.
Thanks to Rockstar we also had a couple of beers after the work! Rajiv...next week...can you put me down? thanks.
A good game, well-contested with both sets of players giving their all to the end. 3-3 after 60 mins with Rainer scoring the last goal at the end of 15mins extra time. Great credit to the red players who stood tall against a strong Whites attack and never giving up at 3-1 down. reds actually took the lead but Whites relentless pressure forced the next 3 goals. Reds did not give up and started to attack more with outstanding play from David T and Nick C. Babs (with a slight hangover) recovered from a slow start and ended up with crucial defensive blocks and then adding to the attack. Kien made some important last min saves as keeper. A new revelation for Reds was how Arjit could keep goal wihtout conceding while on his handphone for about 20mins! Whites attack was always potent with Rainer, Imran, Andre and Gerard causing a lot of problems to the Reds defence, admirably held by Desmond and co. Rockstar then saved the day with ice-cold Heinekens after the game. Till next week ...
A really enjoyable game that i think was felt by all after the match. Played in great spirits and very close throughout. Some lovely goals on both sides, Captain Marvel Lynz leading from the front and dragging us deservedly back onto level terms with 2 goals, one of which was a great left foot volley after Raj had blocked his first shot.
A couple of moments during the game which went against Reds, a blatant handball from Andre 2 yards inside the D from a corner, and a goal mouth scramble where the ball may have crossed the line. Both times Reds calmly let the incidents go and played on which was the right thing to do and greatly contributed to the good feeling during the match.
A fine piece of clinical finishing from Rainer settled matters, and big thanks to Rockstar for some fine chilled Heinekens, 18 to be precise, they were all drunk with great glee!
Apologies for my team for the slow start leading to Imran catching me in possession and finishing with aplomb, I was shaking the cob webs out at that point early on, and wasn't helped by no one shouting 'man on either'
All in all really enjoyed the game chaps, despite pooing it when Arjit was on the phone for first 20 minutes!
