Thanks to Kelvin who agreed to play at the eleventh hour after several withdrawals, we got a 7 a-side game going. The line ups were quickly put together by Jamie and myself but although Jamie wanted to be White he somehow inadvertently posted his team as Red instead. Rather than having to change the posting and then inform 12 other players I reluctantly agreed to be White - reason being I usually end up losing in a White strip.
Anyway....we started with 6 a-side with Rai playing for Whites as Hai and Sufian was fashionably late. After 5 mins, we reverted to the original line-ups. The game was played at a pretty fast pace since most of the players were relatively younger and pacy (compared to me at least). Whites initially did most of the attacking but Reds defended superbly and took the lead each time. Whites were unlucky and hit the woodwork several times and also gave away several sloppy goals.
Song Chuan was outstanding for the Whites, Sufian controlled the game well with his silky manoeuvre and ball control and Sirini found the net more often than not. Everyone played well for the Reds which probably explains why Reds eventually won by a goal or two in a high single digit scoring game.
Guess I did not succeed in shaking off my poor White strip record.
