Damian messaged about an hour ago to say he has to go in to work. .... .... Dylan ... is available.
Sorry team selectors, you might have to revise the line ups.
Everyone, bring both colours. And be early.
Several messages between 4.15 and 5.00 pm on massive jams on PIE and Bukit Timah Road. Hopefully, everyone got there in the end, and managed an hour of play time, assuming the game ran past 6 pm as it usually does.
The game was kicked of 10-15 minutes late as quite a few people were caught in the Jam. We decided to go ahead without any further changes as we just couldn't be bothered to tweak and the game was late starting anyway. I felt Fred's white team were definitely stronger but knew we could make a match out of it by out working them and being very disciplined in our formation and shape.
Red's ran out 5-2 winners in the end and it was purely from quite outstanding defensive resolve and our midfield selflessly dropping back to clear the lines when needed. My back 3 of Timmy (RB), Kenny (CB) & Dylan (LB) were truly outstanding and repelled the likes of Fred, Brendan, Richard, Karthi, Tim.T & Jason time and time again, who could imagine that looking at it on paper!!! Raminder ran the midfield and was immense along with Uday who was a great physical presence. Dilesh at times was unplayable and gave us a great outlet up front, he created endless amount of chances for himself and his team and it was a huge blow for us to lose him to ankle injury after 30 mins. He went in goal and we had to soak a lot of pressure up although there were not that many great clear chances for the right such was the Reds defensive shape and scrambling midfield effort. To lose Dilesh and still come out on top was simply class!
A real shock result in the end but massively thankful to my team mates for digging in and putting in such a shift and holding such a great shape.
Thanks to Karthi for the Beer, good work lad. See you guys in a couple of weeks.
Sorry I completely forgot to mention Nick, don't know how i did that! On the day he did everything from create, score, and defend, a complete performance from a complete player and great gentlemen. It's what you come to expect from all Arsenal fans, well played Nick, big contribution chap!
