Yes, Reds scored the first goal with 6 against 7. While Whites had more possession this probably gave a sense of an inevitable win and the last passes were often inaccurate. Scoring behind the penalty line also remains very difficult especially with strong defenders like Wing Kong and Damian. So, the arrival of Min actually helped Whites as well as a tactical switch where we moved Jason as a solid defender, Brendan as a running striker and Phang or Tim in midfield. We created much more movement and possibilities to pass. It took some time but eventually Whites equalized, and went up to 5-1. Whites had a lot of other half and full chances but Reds made another goal. Whites scored the last. The nice thing was that there were not many goals from far away but at least three goals where 5 players of Whites touched the ball in the build-up. I believe Phang even scored a hatrick.
Yeah, 6-2 was about right.....Reds were demolished after about 35 mins. No excuses and credit to the players who ran their hearts out Darren, Zach, Dan, Kong etc....but the additional player didn't do us any favours as he said he had just booked out of army camp and was tired....
We were simply overwhelmed by the endless running and quick interplay between Martjin, Brendan, Kelvin, Phang who kept coming through the mid unmarked and made good use of hi quickness to get into good scoring positions. Kelvin was also very nippy and was always the open man. It felt like the Red def were outnumbered on quite a few occasions towards the end.
Gerard never fails to deliver with 2 goals for Reds even though he was ill yesterday......Dan never lost heart and kept running up and down. Kong always dependable but outplayed with 2 many attacking players.
Thanks to Jiv who went out of his way to get us an extra player even though he had an ongoing function to attend.
Sorry to Brendan for kicking your foot 3 times, my timing was a bit off yesterday due to a cold
