This week's game saw a few fresh faces, as well as some players coming back to join the Monday melee. The Ref was in the correct color but wasn't in my team. Once again, the style of play was quite different between the 2 teams. Reds were pressing and attacking minded, which resulted in quite a few goals, could have been more if not for the great goal keeping prowess of Whites. However, this meant a very thin Red defense which was duly exploited with quick counter attacks by Whites. Whites lacked an 'Ozil' type player to hold and distribute the ball, but were clinical with their finishes. More contrasting was the fact that the 'older' players tend to shout alot and the younger ones kept really quiet . I believe we need to communicate more, even if its only to encourage or to acknowledge good play. I don't really remember the score, I only remembered my stunning goal from a Sufian corner with a jumping half volley into the top right corner; not bad for an old man ;D!! Let's call this one a draw.

View from the White side - indeed Whites played more of a defensive 3-2-1 and relied on fast breaks while Reds looked like a 2-3-1 (?) which gave it more midfield control. And bulk of game was Reds' skilful midfielders probing a well organized defense. But I thought the majority of goals White gave up were giveaways; poor passes in the back that resulted in hopeless one on ones. Whites got three from Markos' deft dribbles and the rest (5) from good breaking passing combos, including what I thought was the golden goal (?) for Whites to win 8-7.. ; )
