The Monday regular on each team with the most number of games in the current 6 month period can be captains. For Team 1, Kelvin (with 30 games) is no longer regular on Monday nights right? That leaves us with Marko (with 20 games) as captain. For Team 2, it will be Rai (with 28 games).
Captains can agree on further changes. Colours assigned by captains or by 7 pm.
Kelvin Au has requested to be in white, so whichever team he is on will be white (including, if he for any reason, he gets switched to the other team before colours are confirmed).
Wasn't looking forward to 6v6, so was delighted when both sides had 7. One word - Scrappy. It was ugly and messy, and I'm not talking about Jeff! Both sides were gulity of sloppy defence, poor passing, not communicating with each other and ball watching. Needless to say, this resulted in many easy goals, in which I lost count. I will also add that in a team game like football, we can't afford to lose a player (for whatever reason). Every player needs to pull his weight. But in any case, the team selectors seemed to have factored this in so it was pretty balanced. Sorry for the late tackles, they were intentional. It's the only way to stop Sufian and Rai, and my reflexes aren't what they used to be. Reds scored the last goal with a well placed ball to the top left corner by Kenny, so I guess Reds won the night. Thanks Rai for the new ball!

* If one team is a player short due to uneven numbers, a no show, late withdrawal, fatigue, injury, illness or a player leaving the game, we try to find a replacement at the venue itself. If a replacement cannot be found, we continue with one team a player short. The team with the extra player is restricted in its scoring to within an imaginary line running through the penalty spot for the opposing goal. The same if one team is short due to a player being late. If the team that is a player short is losing badly in the second half of the game, a player from the side with the extra player should switch to the team with a player short. The scoring restriction is also switched.
Rajiv, I believed Gilbert meant players physically on the pitch but "mentally and physically" not in the game at all esp when things don't go their way. In fact Reds started the game with one less player but we continued to play normally as per what we always do at ECP.
No worries Gilbert, all part of the game and i am sure it was more mistimed than intentional. We all have our "slow" Mondays days but your reading of the game and no nonsense defending are still very highly valued & regarded ... at least in my personal opinion. RESPECT!
Whites definitely won the game by a couple of goals in a very tight match with bulk of the goals again coming in the later part of the game as some of the players ran out of gas past the 75 min mark. Whites were swift in their counter attacking moves and were quick to punish any lackluster passes & mistimed control/touches by the Reds defending players. The difference in "ball players" between the 2 teams were the difference on the night. Having said that, Whites actually played very well and had much of possession but we lacked ideas & cutting age upfront. We had some very "forgettable moments" in front of goal including myself. Hahahaha! It was a hard but enjoyable session.
Shawn L was brilliant on the night and in fact for the past few games we played. Even Sufian commented how fast Shawn was and managed to robbed the ball of him a couple of times which I don't think most of us are capable of. Shawn clearly upped his game. John Sng played very well for the Reds and held his own against the faster and more skillful White forwards. Clarence L also had a good game on the left side for the Whites. Kudos to both of them!
Lastly, just want to comment that our games over at the ECP is not about "thrashing" or "making a fool" out of your opposite teams. Teams should be evenly lined up to ensure a good evening for everyone including the weaker players. Like what Gilbert mentioned above, its a TEAM game, not a "self ego masturbating **" session.
rai - Your comments is El Clasico !!!! One of the best comments I have read since CH's colorful reports.
Bert - I ain't messy, just cut my hair and have a facial hair trim... ugly ? well that is debatable...
On a slightly serious note, Shawn had a good game, dropped into right defense for a while and I got to push up which I appreciate John did good as well in general and played to instructions from the experience players around him and once in a while push up.
Reds did lead in the first 20 to 30 minutes with Sufian and Rai dancing through the middle exposing bert a few times and panic stations for the whites defenders with a few of them resulting in goals and reds opening a big lead. Movement of whites and perhaps stamina, gave whites the second wind and caught up with red and lead.
Overall pretty decent game with Kenny capping with a nice "last-goal".
