I suggest Derian and Rai as team selectors. Between them they should know all the players, whether they are Khalsa regulars or East Coast regulars, or the newer or less regular players who played last Thursday. Also, apart from Gerard (with 36 games), who has opted out, they are the two players with the most number of games in the current 6 month period - 28 and 25 respectively.
Whites: Derian, Kelvin Ho, Wilson L, Sean L, Daniel T2, Gerard, Paul Reds: Rai, Stan, Jeff, Kah boon, Liren, James, Marko
Whites started off stronger as they controlled the game in midfield. The difference though wasn't much as reds provided a lot of resilience with rai and jeff marshaling the defence for reds.
Whites got off to an early lead with some good finishing from Wilson and Sean. Some bad defending and goal keeping from Wilson allowed reds to creep back into the game.
Kelvin was showing some positive demonstration on putting his weight to good use as he effectively shielded and protected the ball from his opponents.
It was 5-3 to whites at one point in time. Reds began to bombard Whites defence and they were caught wanting at the back with the absence of a reliable center back. Eventually, reds managed to give Whites a run for their money, pulling the score level at 5 all.
Some individual errors from reds cost them to end the game with a final score of 8-5 to whites.
It was an tough but enjoyable game as per last Thursday. Each team "took control" of the game at various stretch of the game and there were some very good skill & passing on display by both sets of players. White took their chances very well and Reds were extremely unlucky hitting the goalposts on a few occasions and missing a few very good chances. Unfortunately individual mistakes in defence/goalkeeping resulted in at least half of the Red goals which proved to be the difference on the night. It was a well deserved victory for Whites.
Special mention to Stan .. who was "flawless" in his communication skill in both Mandarin and English. A shoo-in for MOTM!
