There is a request for East Coast regulars (including ex-East Coast regulars like Melvin and Joel) plus their guests be on one team. Steven has also requested that he, Ting Wei, Frankie and Aaron be on one team. Rai and Kelvin have agreed on colours. This gives us:
Whites: Melvin Au, Joel Ong, Jensen, Marko, Shawn Low, Rai (c), Alwyn Reds: Steven Lim, Ting Wei, Alvin Chew, Frankie, Aaron, Kelvin Han (c), Will Kerr
Melvin Au will be a bit late as he is making his way from reservist.
Kelvin Han informs me he can only leave the office at 8.45 pm, so that is why he is usually 5 to 10 minutes late. Steven Lim has agreed to stand in for him as team captain to organize the team. Anyway, he got the team he requested.
Match started 5 mins past 9pm and Kelvin Han arrived shortly and so the match "started" evenly.
Whites took first blood via a swift move down the left flank which Shawn cut the ball back the center for Mark to tap in. Reds drew level almost immediately from an opportunistic pounce after a mixed up in the Red keeper. After the early euphoria, both teams settled down and played their game.
Whites (due to the absences of any proper defenders) pressed high from midfield and were constantly on the move which the Reds found difficult to track. We were able to find our open team mates and with quick decisive passing via the middle of the park, we were able to create good goal scoring opportunities which the Whites took confidently. Reds didnt give up trying but were often cut our by our willing runners in midfield. They scored 2 goals in quick succession towards the end and we ended the game.
Don't think anyone really took score after awhile but i reckon it was close to 16/17 - 4 to the Whites.
