Like two boxers in the ring trading punch for punch, reds and whites took turns taking the lead, none able to land a knockout blow until the final bell.
The whites started the scoring with Fred after a stray pass from CH. but football, if nothing else, is a game of redemption. CH atoned for his mistake with a sweet strike from the left, equalizing at a time when the whites were threatening to run riot.
The Reds then took a surprise lead when a long ball by rockstar was not cleared by the whites. Elvin slamming the loose ball into the top of the net.
Next, a Hail Mary long ball by Kien flew over everyone and into the goal. The reds were surprisingly in the lead with the score 3 - 1.
Gerald (I think ) soon pulled one back for the Whites with Fred (i think) equalizing soon after.
Whites took the lead when Brendan sauntered through the midfield, casually shrugging off the Reds defense like a white dude unimpressed by the attention of SPGs and struck firmly into the back of the Reds net.
Fred soon made the score 3-5. Notice a pattern?
The Whites kept pressing forward. Against the run of play, Arijit scored a deflected goal.
With the score 4-5, and the whites looking to school the Reds, Richard took the game by the scruff of the neck, and whispered, "not today". Richard surged from midfield, led the whites defense on a wild goose chase to the right, and then cut the ball back for Elvin. With such a beautifully wrapped opportunity, Elvin calmly equalized.
Elvin then went on to poach two goals. Reds now leading 7-5. It was here Elvin decided to rest a little. With Elvin in goal, the whites didn't need to contend with any attacking threats from the Reds. Whites pressed forward and soon equalized; I think Gerald and Fred scored.
The score was 7-7 when Elvin came out of striking retirement. He took a shot which the keeper spilled and Kien mopped up with the final goal of the game.
Final score: reds 8 - whites 7.
TL;DR: reds win. Final score Reds 8, whites 7. Fred and Elvin were having their own private competition to see who could score more goals. Rockstar was a rock.
