Several players who may not be familiar with each other, so I will suggest line ups, but I have added a poll for team captains. I've left out those who haven't played for a while or who haven't played at least 25 games in total (since January 2009). I have also left out Kien as he opted out as team selector, even though he did not expressly opt out as team captain.
Reds surged forward within the half hour to lead 3-0 with Jon showing his new found shooting prowess scoring a brace. Reds did well with Darren in central midfield, always finding space and making very good runs straight at Whites defence.
Shaiful kept the defence tight with timely interceptions and tackles while Tim, Simon and Phang kept their supporting roles meaningful with good running up and down the entire pitch.
Whites then scored a couple of easy goals off some defensive errors and suddenly, the glint of hope was in their eyes and that gave them extra inspiration which showed in the way they played. The score went up to 3-2 then 4-2, then 4-3 and ended in the crescendo of 6-5 to Whites.
A deserved victory for the White team who never lost heart. After reaching a draw at 5-5, it was clear that Whites were the ones gunning for a victory. Alas, the Red team seemed like a spent team after using up all their energy in the early stages of the game and were holding on for a 5-5 draw. But it was not to be....
