Great 90 mins workout to welcome the coming CNY holidays later this week. The "fresh" white players took the first 15 mins to sync themselves to the new playing conditions (stark contrast to Khalsa) which enabled the Reds to take the early initiative and opened up a 5-1 lead. Whites kept our composure and slowly played our way back into the game via some nice & patient passing but were often frustrated by excellent Red keeper. Reds were very decisive on the counter attack aided by James non stop movement with and without the ball. Both sides were committed to playing nice passing flowing football thro out the game which made the session competitive yet hugely enjoyable. Reds took the game 9-6.
Deleon (Jeff didn't give him much breathing space all night but he still managed to score a couple of nice "fox in the box" goals) and Roy (always very composed going forward or defending to go along with that steadfast left foot) were outstanding for the respective team.
Hope Sean and his mates will join us more often in the year ahead and wishing everyone a Happy CNY holiday!!
Btw, we all know the covers along the side netting are in terrible condition and create more of a hindrance to our game than anything else. Players who have been playing regularly enough knows the potential safety hazard it may cause esp when defending players try to get the ball out of the netting, so perhaps the opposition can be gracious enough to just back off slightly to allow the ball to come back into play /played back rather than barge in forcefully which "smashes" the defender straight into the fencing. We all know and have seen how it usually plays out when this happen. Our pitch is far from perfect .. so a little restrain and common sense will help everyone start and end the game safely. Cheers!

Roy made my defending much easier last night and it was one of the best "partnership" combination I had in defense for a while. Because he covered well, I am able to pick where the next passes were going to be and closed options or did interceptions.
In general, everyone in Red put in the effort with sporadic laziness but it was enough to close the game.
Hope to see more of the Khalsa folks @ ECP from time to time.
