Lessons from today: 1. Gerald like to bluff people. Say got back issue still can score so many goals and hassle the Red's defense. 2. Always wear shin pads. After Bryan viciously cleared the ball, his foot followed through and hit my shin. Ouch. And thank god for shin pads.
White scored the first goal. Reds equalized with Nick heading in a cross from jake. A sublime touch by Gerald gave whites back the lead. And Raminder scored a goal Isaac should have saved.
Richard scored the Reds' second goal. I believe the third goal was scored by Jake. The momentum was swinging reds way with Rainer hounding the whites' defense. A misplaced pass led to confusion... And someone scored. (Please claim your goal, couldn't see who scored the Reds fourth).
Reds took the lead for the first time. It didn't last long. Another trademark rampaging run by Jon down the left led to the Whites equalizer; Jon collecting a diagonal pass that sliced the Reds' defense and slotting it home.
4-4 it stayed. Reds had chances but it was the Whites who took theirs. I believe Bryan scored the fifth from a corner. Gerad scored the sixth after a flowing counterattack where Jon surged from the right and cut the ball back for him. Gerald scored the seventh after Damian gifted him the ball in the Reds penalty box; Isaac who was keeper Kenna zhao geng by Gerald.
Rainer (or was it Jake who touched the ball into the net?) scored the last goal of the game. The fifth for the Reds; scant consolation.
Well so much for all the pre-match talk ab the Reds being the much stronger team As I told Jon at the start of the game, names on paper can be very deceptive and the nature of the game is how a team gels together. And gel together the White team did from the get-go, they were confident on the ball and were harassing every Red player that got possession of the ball.
Reds had the fire power with Jake, Rainer, Richard, Anthony and Nick but somehow it was one of those afternoons when every other pass went astray and that one touch was a little too much.....we just couldn't hang onto possession of the ball. Rainer was time and again snuffed out by multiple defenders on him (Bryan, Danny FC), I have to say that Whites defence put up a good show with Ram and Jon always tracking back to help out, whilst Simon and Gerard kept breaking the def line with good positioning and lay-up play.
Couple of late tackles had some tempers fraying toward the end (sorry for yelling at you Kien but your shouting was starting to distract our own guys on the ball) but all in a good workout, Kudos to the White team.
not much else to say except bryan scored a screamer for the opening goal..ramindra and simon were awesome in the middle, not just their passing but also tackling people like rich and ant consistenyl... Gerard linked up really well and no doubt his back probably feels a lot worse having carried me for 60 minutes (I missed the ball about 10 times!)
haha yes it's Gerard. I also don't recall scoring so many. I believe Simon was the one who was top form and scored those nice goals. Our defenders Danny, FC and Bryan were rock solid. FC had a field day feeding me with pin point long throws while he was goalie.
