The game ended 10-8 in favour of the Reds and the players outlasted the ball.
The score line in my opinion was probably not a fair reflection of the game as I felt that Whites were overall the better team. They passed the ball well, used the flanks effectively and had the Reds (at least me) stretched in the first 15 mins when Reds were playing with 6 men. I found it tough doubling as the right back and right midfield and trying to contain the Whites with one men short. Consequently Whites led 3-0.
Whites defended stoutly most of the time and it was almost impossible to thread a past through the defence even with Sufian playing for the Reds. Reds was always trailing by the odd goal till 7 -7 but somehow with sheer determination Reds took the lead from there and won the game. I guess Whites lost a bit of steam at the end of the 90 min game as their "total football" probably took its toll on them.
The ball was the talking point of the game. Our usual favourite yellow ball was somewhat deflated - we attempted to switch to a couple of other balls but those felt like beach balls and we reverted to the yellow ball which by the end of the game could have stuck to your sweaty jersey if you attempted to chest it! Perhaps that did affect the standard of passing during the night.
As for players, Jacko gave his all out and ran his socks off for the Reds last night while Zak was a Sufian in the making. Sean and Keith controlled the game well for the Whites and Rai provided some comic relief by attempting to "shoot" at Gilbert twice while he was keeping goal.

Another very competitive and high octane game making it 3 very good games in a row .. Xmas must have came early this year!
A few of us were completely drained after the 90+ min session. I thought Reds were very impressive in containing our attack led by Jeff "Rock" and were incisive in their attacks spearheaded by the unguarded-able Sufian. At times even with 3 Whites defenders surrounding him, he still managed to bring us for a run around and then slotting a simple pass to his open team mates. Gilbert and Keith had to pull off some amazing saves to deny him a few goals. I was actually "instructed" by Gilbert to shoot at him so he can maintain his sharpness against Sufian all game .. HaHaHa!!
Pity about the ball which spoiled the game a bit .. hope more quality players will continue to join our games regularly so Xmas will last till Dec!!

Reds did contain pretty well even with 6, we were only 1 goal down when we are playing with 6 due to my own goal. Boon - you did well holding your position to help with the defense. We opened up a bit when we lost a bit of composure in middle of defense.
3 weeks of competitive games are making me look forward for monday games even more.
Best of all the game was played in great spirit, with both sides acknowledging great play from opponents. Love the atmosphere.
I was meaning to rest my injured ankle for a few weeks now but am compelled to sign up time and again due to the sheer quality of recent games. These are the kind, regardless of the score, you sit down after the game and feel utterly satisfied, entertained and drained! I must add that play has been in good spirit and in great sportsmanship, and the level of intensitivity and skill has been excellent. Aside to Rai, I think it was the first time I've seen you out of sorts, shooting at the wrong goal. I think you should rest abit and just play 5 games a week!
