Whites: Gow, Tan Wee, Kah Boon (c), Keith, Sean Luo, Tim C, Marcus Reds: Paul T, Gerard (c), Ber Luen, Darren, Joel Lim, Damian, Jeremiah
Whites started promisingly with well taken goals by Gow, Marcus and Tan Wee. Their joy, however, was short-lived. Reds started crossing and pumping balls into the whites penalty box. Whites had no reply. Several long balls and crosses later, the game was turned around in favour of the reds. 2 headers (one by Jeremiah and the other by Gerard), 1 volley (jeremiah), 2 cross turned into goals by Paul. Whites never recovered from Paul's demoralizing goals. Gerard brought along his scoring boots, scoring 3 more goals there after. Quite the opportunistic "fox in the box". At one point it was 7 or 8 - 3, whites scored a couple of consolation goals (Sean with quite a sweet volley; Marcus with a powerful back heel; and Tan Wee connecting from a corner by Marcus). Scoreline ended 10(Reds)-6(Whites), Reds other goals scored by Darren and Jeremiah, I think. Darren controlled the midfield well with tireless off-the-ball running by Jeremiah (his pants were soaking wet after the game - quite a sight I must say). Gerard was clinical. Tan Wee played well for the Whites. Apart from some sloppy defending by the Whites, I thought it was a pretty balanced game. Good workout!
Actually on the reds, we feared the worst after conceding those first 3 goals. But i guess we managed to re-organize ourselves and definitely kudos to Darren and Jere for their hard work in midfield, Gerard clinical as ever as well as valiant defending from Damian, Paul and Ber Luen. Whites didn't make it easy either, always stretching us to mad scrambles to clear the ball from our D. Rather well balanced and great fun last night!
