It's been raining in various places on and off since early afternoon, including light rain or drizzle in various places in the past hour, but I checked with Khalsa, and its not raining there, so game on.
The game will go ahead even if there it starts to drizzle or there is light rain at Khalsa.
Rain stopped one the game started. Reds started with one man short as tan wee came a little late. Whites took advantage of the numerical advantage and raced to a quick 2 goal lead with goals coming from Derian and sean. This proved only to awaken the red team as they lauched waves of attack on the whites goal once the numerical advantage was all evened up. Kodaka, Darren and gang managed to muster 9 goals in succession without an answer. The score stood at 9-2 with goals coming from all over the pitch from the likes of Kodaka, Paul, Darren l. There were so many goals that I lost track of who scored how many from Reds. Whites lauched a mini fight back, each time only to be countered with a reds goal. The closest that whites came to ironing out the score was when the score stood at 11-8 to whites. The final score was 14-8 to reds. A total annihilation for whites who couldn't really get out of their own half. Chances for whitees were few and far between with chances coming only from long balls. Reds on the other hand were creating chance after chance with crisp passing and short interchanges. Kudos to whites for a great game and some really well taken goals with volleys from Kodaka to long range goals from Paul.
Probably very frustrating game for whites. We found huge space between defense and midfielder. Our midfielders keeps on supporting to take my return passes at center or sides which created many options for me with maintaining similar distances each other all the time. For whites defender, distance was too far, it relyed on long balls with slim chances. All midfielders pushed up to take the long ball which even made Reds defenders easy returns to Reds attackers. Reds defenders held the ball well from right to left if there is no space, and waited till whites came up with rush, made another space to be used. There was one time when Whites was stabilized when there was defensive midfielder to take care of space, but did not last to keep the eagerness for goal to catch up. When game became single sided, some time patience is needed by staying back to make up for a space and try to leave one man who can keep the ball alone to make a time. Simply because there is no off side rule, no way to push up defense line. It was interesting mental game......well done for Reds hard worker, Paul and Darren.
