White: Ace, Mike A, Kevin K2, Reza, Dhiraj, Melvin L, John J Black: poh Keng, John S, Justin R, Andre, Carl, Nic H, gilbert Sagnik can't make it and so gilbert is back again and he was supposed to play 'Goalkeeper' and Andre was in as well. Many changes on the opening game of 7-a-side at ECP The big pitch at Sports Planet is currently uncovered. I hope the pitch wasn't too affected by the rain earlier in the evening. Gilbert initially withdrew because he was concerned about the surface being slippery. Add any comments below.

Blacks won 11-5 in the end. A little wet and slippery but great playing surface nevertheless. There were plenty of movements and goals but with the wet surface, it was no surprise that couple of goals slipped in under the keepers' hands. Great combination of indoor and outdoor conditions. The pitch is perfect for 7-a-side. we will expect places to be filled up very quickly on Tuesdays.

fun game. white was walloped into submission. called my mother for emotional support shortly after. agreed that the pitch is brilliant for 7s.

blacks were much much better with their passing play. they were able to gel and support each other as a team. their understanding of one another's movement and style contributed to their success. well done blacks!
whites were good too individually, we simply lack the cohesiveness to perform as a unit. we just need to play often to adapt to each other's style.
the lighting of the pitch is a bit dim though as compared to the sheltered ones.

question: when doing the line-up, do we need to ensure that there are equal number of newcomers and seasoned players in both teams?

Sometimes, we got to deal with last min withdrawals and players whom we dont know at all.. Like Andre whom I played with for the first time last night and John J whom I could not remember playing with b4... Of course, if there is a need to change on the spot, any of the regular players could make suggestions. It would be good for the regular players for a particular night to take turns to suggest the line-up. Can you help with the line-up for this coming Tuesday, Ace? You can pass the baton to the next one the following week. Thanks

i'm willing if i could but i'm not sure who are the regulars and newcomers? cos i stopped playing for quite some time and only got back just last week.
those people that i knew were regulars from the previous game are gilbert, john and yourself. and they are all in the black team.
i suggest all players bring both sets of kit and we'll decide the line-up as a whole on the spot. how's that?

I think two regular players taking turns to pick players from the pool would be the best solution. However, as we only have one hour for the game, the choosing can be either be on the message board, or by turning up about 15 minutes early, so as not to waste game time. There is a separate thread on line ups.
