I think Whites got their engines going earlier, and got into a 3-0 lead. Whites got tired, Reds picked up pace and brought the game within a goal at one point (4-3?). Whites made it 5-3 before Reds pulled another back to make it 5-4.
Wing Kong and the rest of the Whites defense were immense. Credit to them - strong performance.
Game was played in good spirits. Some sluggish and careless tackles but nothing malicious. Apologies to Dev for stepping on his foot.
Think the score was 4-3 with Reds desperately chasing for the equaliser at the end before the warden came to inform of another incoming match. Reds didn't settle well and a couple of defensive mistakes gave away a couple of easy goals. Also I guess it was a mistake to start Elvin as centerback even if he was just returning from an old injury as we had no one to pass to up front. Gerard tried valiantly but with constant Kong as a marker and always with 3 people behind him, it was always going to be a challenge. Raminder was the MoM for Reds, think he scored 2 or 3 goals and was everywhere, helping out in defensive passing out, orchestrating the midfield attacks and poaching the goals.
Kah Boon, Kelvin (the Firecracker) and Fergus were a handful for the Red defence and kept us heavily occupied. Classic moment of the match when Kelvin said:-
"OK, OK, he (Kah Boon) didn't intend to slide, he just 'slided'!" LOL but all was well and in good spirits at the end.
