Whites took the lead soon after kickoff from a corner courtesy of Nic, assisted by a sloppy defence. Reds took some time to settle down and this proves costly as Reds soon conceded another goal. With Thommy coming back to play after a long hiatus and Francis still getting used to the game, Reds were very sloppy in their passing and defending.
Reds soon managed to get their rhythm and pulled back a goal through Christian. Jacko's mistake allowed Jeremiah to steal in on goal and restore their 2 goal lead. 3-1.
Jacko soon make amends by holding off Mark and finish coolly into the bottom corner. Reds managed to score again and lead 4-2 before goals by Sean and Christian pull the Reds level at 4-4.
Reds were playing with high confidence at that point but missed a few chances. Daniel somehow managed to score against the run of play for the Whites to lead again. Thommy soon have cramps on both legs (Yes, not 1 but both legs) which meant he could not carry on and the Reds were left to fight with 6 men. Whites scored another before I scored one to bring to score to 6-5. With 6 players for the last 15mins or so, the Reds started to tire and the Whites pulled away in the end with Nic and Daniel scoring the last 2 goals.
Reds were unlucky as they put together some nice team moves but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. Well done Reds for fighting hard even though we were down to 6 men.
If one team is a player short due to uneven numbers, a late withdrawal or no show, a player arriving late, fatigue, injury, illness or a player leaving the game, we try to find a replacement at the venue itself. If a replacement cannot be found, we continue with one team a player short. The team with the extra player is restricted in its scoring to within an imaginary line running through the penalty spot for the opposing goal. The same if one team is short due to a player being late. If the team that is a player short is losing badly in the second half of the game, a player from the side with the extra player should switch to the team with a player short. The scoring restriction is also switched.
