Team selectors are Kah Boon and Keith. Line ups to follow.
After describing the two players Kah Boon had never played in the same game with in the WhatsApp group chat for the team selectors, we had the following exchange:
Kah Boon: "Actually Rajiv.. I sld put myself as NAATS everytime next time.. I'm not very good w selecting and most of e time I can remember names even though I played many x w them.. lol"
Me: "Never mind, let Keith suggest first."
Keith: "Yup.. Will try to balance it out"
Me: "Let's see who Keith suggests on your team. I may pull in one of them to help you if that helps.
With Jeremiah on Kah Boon's team, and being the only other player with a vote in the poll, I added him to the group chat. Jeremiah's response to Keith's suggested line ups was "Can la", so Kah Boon went with it.
Before the game, Daniel was tasked with man-marking Sufian, this seems to psych up Daniel as while marking Sufian, he created and finished off chance after chance.
Game started with Whites taking the lead through Zach before the Reds equalize through Daniel, finishing off with an opportunistic effort. Reds went on to take a 3-2 lead before the Whites close the gap to 3-2 through Sufian. Reds managed to score another 2 to take a 5-2 lead, and 6-3 lead. Aided by the dangerous Sufian, Whites came on the verge of turning the game around when they scored 2 goals, taking the lead to an exciting 6-5 scoreline. Zach missed a glorious chance from Sufian pass, when he was 1-on-1 with the keeper and fluffed the shot, very much to the Reds' relief.
Daniel scoring the first 5 goals for Reds, and was everywhere in the match, all this done while man marking Sufian whenever Whites have the ball. Gow added the 6th goal for the Reds when he put a low drive into the corner of the net.
Not to be undone, Reds powered on to score 2 quick goals through Sean assisted by Marcus before Sean return the favour, sprinting pass Kien and crossing it in for Marcus to finish off. 8-5
Whites managed to summon an last ditch effort to rescue the game and scored through Sufian to take the game to 8-6 before time was nearly up and last goal was called. Zach capitalized on my mistake and put in a sweet cross which Kien headed into goal.
Final score: Reds 8 - Whites 7
Extremely close game which Sufian was as usual the constant dangerous player for the Whites.
MOTM: Daniel TKC with 5 goals and did a very good job man-marking Sufian.
