REDs took the lead from a cleverly turn-in shot by Andrew from 4 ft out in the 3rd min and for the first 30 min WHITES played Catch-up, finally levelling off at 3-3 at the halfway mark. Jye n gang coordinated well with Ace menacing up front whilst WHITES were marshalled in by CSM Raj as play was haphazard and defence , leaky.
WHITES then settled down n raced ahead 7-5 bringing back the whithish Colgate grins but REDs, typical style, came back with Kenny pickpocketing Fred at the back n shot the ball cheekily in as the REDs defence n me stood gaping at the ball lazily n harmlessly bouncing into the corner...mastery by Kenny. This goal pulled REDs back to 7-6, and WHITEs looked nervous.....until Sunny brought back the warmth (haha)...
...as the hero of the day Sunny, (as he returned from London football aprenticeship) banged in the final WHITEs' goal, and had a hattrick on his homecoming. All his goals were all no-nonsense slambang meeting of crosses coming in...... sry REDs, the man makes his message clear - first team soccer or nothing! This last goal was superly timely at the last minute of play....n saved WHITES' the blushes...n deprived REDs the sniggering!
WHITEs took the honour this weekend with a hard-fought 8-6 win.
