Several newer or less regular players, and players who haven't played together before much or at all, so I'll suggest line ups after 4 pm tomorrow. I have added a team captain poll. I have included everyone who has played at least 8 games in the current 6 month period and at least 16 games over the past 3 years.
Cedric, with 2 votes, is one captain. Tie between Ling Chong and Ian (with 1 vote each) for the other, but Ling Chong gets in ahead having played more games over the current 6 month period (33 to Ian's 9).
Whites: Shamir, Bobby, Philip S, Cedric (c), Shawn Koh Reds: Dan A, Ling Chong (c), Ian, Niel L, Melvin L
The final score of 11-4 to Whites made this look like a one-sided contest, which is odd because it didn't look that way after 30 minutes when the teams were locked at 3-3, and this after the Reds had taken the early initiative to lead 2-0.
Whites then scored an avalanche of goals without reply to lead 9-3. This was simply down to the fact that Whites finishing was better and their technical superiority all over the pitch was beginning to tell. In contrast, Reds seemed to lack a little cohesion as a team and more crucially, they were also not as ruthless when scoring opportunities presented themselves. Even so, Reds tried to keep their chins up and pulled a goal back with 5 mins to play but it wasn't long before they conceded a brace in quick succession for the match to end 11-4 at full time.
In the final analysis, Whites were deserving winners (it was remarked that the teams were quite imbalanced) but I am not sure that the difference between the teams was 7 goals.
