Several less regular players, so I will suggest line ups after noon tomorrow. I have added the team captain poll. I've included everyone who has played at least 12 games in the current 6 month period or 35 games over the past 3 years, excluding those who have specifically opted out from the team captain poll.
Change of strategy for Reds did work.......for awhile. Without a midfield, Elvin and Kong decided to mix it up a little by pushing Kong up into centre-mid to break up the Simon-Manish (yet again!?) combo! And this did the trick. I would say that Reds had the better first 30 mins though it was Whites who scored first due to too much of an attacking mindset by Reds defenders who did not have time to come back on the counter.....However, Reds equalised at 2-2 and were looking for the 3rd goal when the tides suddenly turned....
Kong unaccustomed to all that running in mid went back to his usual center full back position and with that, our mid control crumbled....2 late goals, 1 via a corner with loose marking from the Reds (my bad as I was tying my shoelace at that time) and the other a scrambled ball in front of goal....gave Whites a comfortable 4-2 victory. CH had a great game for Reds making many crucial tackles and kudos for his industry running up and down while Senthil did well to control and make some good passes when he played wing. Peminder showed a new side as a strong center forward/striker in attack whilst Kong also showed that he is not a one-trick pony and can play in midfield as well. Elvin as usual scored both of Red's goals while both Manish and Kong struck the posts.
Losing the game wasn't as bad as what happened to the Utd-Leicester match later on......this will be one Sun evening that will be good to forget
