As 3 of the last 4 Monday games were cancelled, I sought to confirm my booking with HYFA. HYFA had cancelled all my bookings without telling me! I'm not sure whether its because 3 of the last 4 bookings were cancelled, but I've asked them to reinstate, especially since I have 1 paid booking left! However, tonight's slot has already been taken. The 7 players to reply on the WhatsApp group chat are all ok with the switch. Anyway, no choice, so I've gone ahead and made the change to the first post above.
Before that, Sean posted the following on the group chat at 5.06 pm:
Whites: Keith, Sean, Jacko, Jordi, Ben, George, Boon vs Reds: Jeff, Rai, Kenny, Marko, Shawn, Tim, John
After the game, please post reports and comments on the game below.
It was quite pleasant to be back in East Coast again when the pitch was now brightly lit and without the canvas padding on the sides, it did not feel that claustrophobic.
The match was played with good pace and both sides were evenly matched. Reds led 6-3 at one point and then 7-4 before Whites drew level. Reds had more attacks and shots at goal and honestly Whites managed to score courtesy of John who was injured and played keeper for Reds and was thus unable to stop some of Whites' feeble and lucky attempts. All in all quite a few of the goals were due to sloppy defending by both sides. Perhaps we were all trying to get used to the East Coast pitch again after playing in HYFA.
I believe Whites took the match at the end at 8-7. A draw or even a win for Reds would probably have been a fairer result.
My apologies to Tim for taking him down late in the game.
