It was another close and high-scoring game which yielded the same scoreline as the previous Saturday: 6 - 5 to the Whites. The team selectors for the past two weeks can take credit for picking balanced line-ups which showed in the close results.
Reds scored first but Whites hit a purple patch to lead 4 - 1. As usual, the turning points came with goalkeeper rotations and the changed line-ups allowed Reds to pull back to 4 - 4. Whites took the lead again only for Reds to pull back to 5 - 5. But Whites promptly scored to make it 6 - 5 and broke Red's hearts.
The midfield from both sides were on top and gave both defences a hard day at the office. Passing was crisp and fast, and there were defence-splitting passes. For Whites, Brendan and Sam combined well to feed Jake who scored a couple (or hattrick?) of goals. Babs scored as well as tracking back to help out on the left side of Whites' defence. Jye blocked or cleared about a half-dozen shots.
Reds' midfield of Mark, Lynz, Carhal, Cedric combined well.
As with every week, there were calls for handball whenever the ball hit the arm, even though the arm was not raised and handball was not intentional.
