I won't be contactable from mid-morning until later in the day, so anyone can announce the poll winners on the WhatsApp group chat. I'll also add those on waitlist to the WhatsApp group chat so that those on waitlist are informed if there are any withdrawals. Any withdrawals on the group chat please so that the team selectors and those on waitlist are notified.

Well, all the pre-match talk that Whites were weaker proved to be some sort of gamesmanship, lulling the reds into thinking that a sure win was on the cards. The game proved that what matters most is teamwork and not individuals. Reds did not gel as a team, we lack cohesiveness while the whites were playing very well as one. For the game report, I will leave it to the sports writers ala Damian.
Wah, people now preempt my reports LOL! Thanks Elvin!
Hehehe, its funny abt the pre-match hype and fears, I arrived with White players saying that the Red team was much stronger but time and again, the saying that the "ball is round" proves true. What appears on paper ie. lines ups may not be always be a foregone conclusion, there are so many factors which can influence how a game goes for eg. the first to score, individual brilliance by a solitary player on the day, chemistry of the team (hence this is a major part of the FIfa 15 game , or random luck! This explains why there are so many upsets nowadays in the BPL......
Onto the match proper, we started 7 vs 8 as Joshua was abt 15 mins late and within that short spell, Whites had drawn blood not once by twice already! The first a slicing shot from an acute corner which I (goalie) had failed to cut out...(that shouldn't have gone in) but credit to the scorer, was it Jeetu? Even after Joshua arrived and we reverted to normal rules, Reds went down further to a 4-0 scoreline! I could see the disbelief in some of the Red players faces. We had strong individual players and quite a balanced mix, so why was this happening?
Reds did not threaten the White's goal overly much due to very good defending with Shaiful and Kien combining to cut out whatever penetration we had. However, I noticed that most of our threats were mainly individual runs unlike the passing game of the Whites. Elvin could only score 1 goal (as cf to his usual 2-4 goals per match Lol) as everytime he received the ball, there were 2 White players on his back. Joshua had good runs into the D but was ultimately tripped or dispossessed before he could set up for a shot on target.
Things started to change when Elvin made the strategic decision to move Kong from central defence upto mid with more cut and thrust introduced into the game on the whole. However, Reds were still unable to equalise. While Whites did not score after the early 4 goal spree, Reds were only able to claw back 2 goals to end the game 4-2 to Whites.
Mazz had a steady deubt as a defender in the White defence showing good composure while Gerard was at his usual best darting from the left to the right of the goal, often behind the back 3 of the Reds and causing confusion with his runs. Jeetu and Manish were dominating the midfield with good dribbles and darting runs. While Calvin came literally out of nowhere like a ghost and scored a headed goal!
It was not for want of trying on Reds part as each individual gave his all but somehow we just couldn't play together as a team....
Oh well, that's history now...looking forward to next Sun!!
