Several newer or less regular players, and even some of the rgulars are not very familiar with SBSA yet, so I will suggest line ups after 4 pm tomorrow. I have added a team captain poll. I've included everyone who has played at least 12 games in the current 6 month period.
Reds: Senthil (c), Sivaraj, Philip S, Niel L, Sven, Guolong Whites: Reza, John S, Melvin L, Augustine, Ivo, Ian (c)
Most of the players who were new to SBSA had no difficulty finding the venue and we managed to kick off just before 9.10pm.
Whites got into their stride the quicker of the two sides and their fluidity of passing, judicious use of the ball and off-the-ball movement made the difference which was reflected in a 4-0 lead (and this, after missing several other gilt-edge opportunities). Reds had their opportunities as well and having hit the bar/post twice, responded with a goal to narrow the arrears on about 35 minutes.
With the teams tiring in the final quarter, the match became a lot more open and with the extra space, both teams would have added to the score sheet if not for some valiant and heroic defending. Eventually, the slightly more clinical Whites put away the final 2 goals to walk out 6-1 winners when the match ended at about 10.10pm.
As an aside, the SBSA pitch seems best suited for 6-a-side matches, not a man more or less.
